“Location great, beds terrible”
Reviewed 11 July 2011

We spent there 5 days, location was great, house and swimmimg pool as well. BUT - beds were not comfortable, it was not possible to sleep because of mattress. When my husband moved, it was immediately up. He had the same problem, so we were really sleepy and tired. And one more thing, the owner didnt care of us, he preferred Italians. We wanted to have a dinner in the restaurant, we was sitting close to local guests and didnt care that they finished and we didnt receive the main course. I cant recommend this accomodation - beds are not comfortable and owner doesnt care if you dont speak Italian or French.

Our family rented 3 apartments. We loved the views all around us and the apartments were very quaint and nicely kept. It has all the charm that I had expected but, with a wonderful and responsive staff and absolutely fantastic restaurant for the local cuisine. Fresh and unforgettable. We traveled in June so it was not too hot. There are no fans and the bugs are needed to be blocked out at night by the shutters. Just something that you adjust to and it is worth it. The matured gardens around us were so beautiful and we came just at the tail end of the Wisteria blooms...exquisite! The pool is not close to the apartments but, is a nice walk and it is really big, clean and refreshing on a sunny warm day. We enjoyed it very much.
All in all, the experience was one we hope to repeat. We loved the graciousness of the host, the responsiveness and genuine interest of the office manager and the wonderful humility of the chef and staff. A must stay place if you want to visit Tuscany. Also very short driving distances to many great Tuscan sites and cities. The local town is also a beauty.

This - for us, and maybe for you! - was the ideal combination: an established agriturismo located in the green and tranquil Colline Fiorentine, yet within easy reach [by car] of world-renowned gems like Florence, Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano.
Full marks to the welcoming owner Carlo Cubattoli [wine-lover and multi-lingual 'mine host'] and Daniela, the charming and efficient manager and solver of all problems. We breakfasted, we dined, we swam, we slept and most of all we unwound 100 percent.
Le Mandrie di Ripalta is simply magical.

We used this place as a headquarter for our two weeks holiday: we slept there, and started to discover Tuscany every morning. It was excellent to get refreshment in the swimming pool, especially around sunset. It has two buildings, one is the center of the farm, the other is away for a 10-15 min. walk. We had our rent in the latter. Harder to get to the swimming pool, but probably more quiet.

The rooms are nice, equipped with simple rustic furniture. The buildings may worth a renovation, however.

The staff are helpful, but unfortunately we had hard times to find the lady who managed the farm, the others can't speak English. She helped us to book tickets, offered various worth-to-see places, etc.
