“I share my secret truffel restaurant in Montalbino”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

Really I don't like to share a restaurant like this, but for a truffel freak you consider to pay this restaurant a visit. Don't expect a five star restaurant, but just mama (and in busy times her girlfriend) and daughter. Don't let the outside scare you of. I had diner here for several times and I loved it, just like the food.

“Avoid the chicken”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

Their recipe: take one small chicken and cut in half. Take one half and remove as much meat as possible - all breast, leg and thigh. Flatten remaining carcass, coat in breadcrumbs and fry. Serve. My wife stoically tried for some time to find something edible without success. The poor german guy at the next table turned his over 3-4 times before pushing it away in disgust. The rest of our group chose pasta. Passable but let's face it, not a difficult nor an expensive dish to produce. Luckily we were sitting outside - the interior is grim and stark. Much better places nearby, including one just around the corner.

“Fantastic Home Cooked Italian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Decided to eat here because of the signs on the road. We were hungry and needed somewhere to eat that was close to Villa del Capella. Just follow the road into town and when you get into town, the restaurant is located on the right. Has some tables in front of it. We arrived before 7:00 when they usually start serving, but they were open. We were lucky. A local was in the restaurant and he was entertaining his 2 family members that were from the states. He says that he comes to this restaurant all of the time and knows the owner. Which he did since they were talking to each other. The owner of course is also the chef. She was great. The food was very good and the price was very reasonable. We were glad that we did happen to come across this fantastic little Taverna.

“Small village -- great restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

We recently stayed in the small village of Montespertoli and this local restaurant was recommended to us by the owners of our rental. On our first night here, we ventured the short walk up the street to this unassuming restaurant -- and were delightfully surprised. They served only locally grown foods, fresh and wonderfully prepared. While not "fancy" in any way, we received white-table-cloth service, excellent, local wine, and wonderfully prepared food. The four of us each had something different and each of us was just as happy with our choices. We went back twice during our two week stay and were delighted each time with the food, the wine, and the service. Along with two other small and local restaurants, this was one of our favorites!
