After a stay in chaotic, smelly but amazing Venice we went to Brandano for 4 days in paradise. From the moment we met Ousmane at the station until we left he couldnt do enough for us.The hotel is absolutely beautiful with views over the stunning Tuscan countryside, the rooms were spacious and spotless, the dinners absolutely incredible with local truffels and olive oil from the farmer down the road enhancing the local dishes.Wine, cheese and olive oil tastings were organised by Ousmane and were excepional. We cant wait to retrurn!!!Thank you Ousmane and Linda for a wonderfull time!!!

I was travelling in Italy with my wife for a second honeymoon by mid July-2013, and we were gifted with an amazing stay at the Palazzo Brandano. In fact, our stay at the hotel was the last night before departing back to Brazil. We remember arriving at the Hotel - a very cozy, quiet and medieval setting - and meeting Ousmane at the front door. After introducing myself, Ousmane promptly opened a big smile and set up an amazing wine tasting for us. He prepared a special table, at the back of the hotel, with an amazing view of the Italian sunset... just to get started! Ousmane personally handled it all, while taking care of our luggage and car parking.

The most special piece of this story is the fact that the Palazzo Brandano - and specially Ousmane - took the time to read the request I made over email, while booking our stay. It was indeed a special occasion for us - my wife's anniversary and our 13th wedding anniversary - and they made our stay an unforgettable one, with room upgrade, a special dinner with the best wine, food, birthday cake and all the details...

To make a long story short: we will come back, and definitely recommend this place. Ousmane - you rock!!

Room Tip: Book the Botticelli room.... amazing!

The personal service Ousmane and Linda provide in this idyllic setting will take some beating...The hotel is beautifully and sympathetically restored and the food and wine is well thought through and supplied beautifully. Ousmane is keen to make your stay as relaxed and fulfilling as possible and frankly nothing is too much trouble. A real gem ......

Palazzo Brandano certainly lived up to their 5 star Tripadvisor rating. We’d return in a heartbeat, a perfect base of operations when in Tuscany. Ousmane clearly enjoys hosting guests and ensuring their comfort. He went out of his way to take us to a pork & wine tasting in a local town, very Tuscan, very enjoyable. The food at Palazzo Brandino was excellent and plated beautifully. We ate there both nights.

We chose to stay here because of the great reviews on tripadvisor, and we were well rewarded for our decision. From the pictures, I thought the hotel sat by itself on a hilltop, but it is in the middle of a very small walled town. The building housing the hotel is 700 years old, and has been beautifully renovated. We were greeted at the entrance by Osman, who helped with our bags and then accompanied me to the parking area below the hotel. His charm, knowledge of the area, and attitude really adds to ambience of the property. We stayed in the Michelangelo suite, which was rustic, comprised of two rooms and a huge bathroom, and was spotless. We ate dinner in the hotel both days of our stay. We didn't want to be driving around the Tuscan countryside trying to find Petroio in the dark. The food, while not equal to fine dining in the cities, was very good, and the intimate dining experience was wonderful. The hotel has a small, charming exterior area behind it (there's nothing but a twelve foot wide street in front) that overlooks a beautiful valley and is a great place to have a glass of wine before dinner. I have to give this place five stars in every category because staying here added to our enjoyment of Tuscany.

Stayed as part of Duvine Adventures and Cycling and the personalized service by the hotel owner and staff was excellent. The moment you walk out the door, you step back in time. The rooms are fresh with modern amenities, while retaining an old world charm.
I'm ready to go back.

We chose Palazzo Brandano because of the exceptional reviews given this incredible property and because of its wonderful location in Tuscany. We loved that the Palazzo was in a tiny walled, ancient town. Our stay was for seven nights in the beautiful suite on the second floor. We had a huge bedroom and living room combination with a porch and windows over looking the gorgeous Tuscany countryside. Each morning we woke up to either Linda or Ousamane making us espresso and cappucino and their cheerful morning greeting. Breakfast was in the lovely dining room. We spent each day driving to a different walled town in Tuscany and Umbria. Several times we had a delicious dinner in the Palazzo Dining Room. We were treated like family. We cannot thank Ousamane enough for his extraordinary kindness and gracious assistance. He was an incredible resource for our adventures. Make sure to ask him for his restaurant recomendations. Our experience was incredible and we will never forget our week in Petroio.
