Prior to our stay at Agriturismo Saletta, Marion was very responsive to all of our email questions and provided driving directions from outside of Rome. Once we arrived, she gave us good restaurant recommendations and ideas for day trips. Since they typically provide a free dinner for guests which we didn't receive since we were the only guests, Marion stopped at the store to get basic breakfast supplies for our first morning since we arrived late after dinner.
Our apt. was the perfect antidote to the "chaos" of Rome, and a bottle of wine made on their farm awaited us on the kitchen table, a nice touch. The farm is near a small town but day trips to the Chianti region, Pisa, Siena, Florence and Volterra were all very easy. The views are beautiful! The accommodations in the Olive apt. were perfect for our family of 4. We only had half a day with other guests staying so we had the place to ourselves. Unfortuntately, we barely used the pool given our day trips and the cool weather, but it was nice to have.
If we have anything negative to say, it would be about the noise that the toilet makes when it flushes, and no basic supplies for cooking such as oil, salt or pepper. It would have been nice to have some games to play as well. The ping pong table out by the pool was great! The website advertises mountain bikes, but there was only 1 mt. bike and a hybrid. This was fine for our kids to accompany us when we went jogging.
Be sure to have cash to pay the 1.50 euros per person/per day tax before you leave and enjoy a wonderful stay!
