We spent a lot of our time traveling around Tuscany and using the villa as our "home base". The flat was beautiful with traditional stone and furnishings throughout, and with modern conveniences incl WIFI so we were able to research our next days' journey while relaxing in front of the fireplace. Sunsets were beautiful with San Gimignano in view.
A bit cold still in mid-April for the pool but we loved the grounds of the villa - as well as the neighboring farms and vineyards.
We were warmly welcomed by Antonio and sorry we were always off on a road trip so didn't get a chance to spend much time with him, although he offered great local advice.
A true Tuscan experience and a wonderful place for a couple, a small family or a large friend/family gathering as there are many flats of various sizes available. Loved it and hope to return very soon!

My wife and I stayed at Casale di Villore in the Prugnulo Apartment. We have been on over 40 international trips and this is the first time I am writing a review. This was by far one of the best vacations we have ever had. Antonio and his father made us feel so welcome, like we were family. The atmosphere and scenery in and around the villa and region are so beautiful, words and pictures cannot do them justice. The villa itself is remarkable. The ability to shop locally, cook our own meals in the villa, and eat either inside or outside on the patio was an unforgettable experience. We could not have found a better place to stay. We plan on returning next year. Antonio, Thank you so much for making our vacation and 11th anniversary prior to my return to Afghansitan one of the greatest experiences of our lives.

Stayed in Frantoio apartment with a family of 4. A self contained, old oil-mill.
Magnificent.
Baskets in the apartment, use them to collect your food and have an unforgettable sunset diner at one of the numerous tables in the garden.
Great pool, but some chairs get claimed early (towels...).

Great hosts. You can ask them anything and they will resolve / help where possible.
Fantastic villages in the area.
In short; piece of paradise!

Beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouses. Apartments range from 1 bedroom upto the 4 bedroom that we rented. They are rented on a weekly basis only. Gorgeous pool, fun boules lane and a great shaded area to sip cocktails and watch the sun go down. Very central location, San Gimignano is only 1/2hr by car and Florence and sienna are only a 1hr bus trip away. Would recommend taking soap etc as no amenities supplied and be aware that you need euros to operate washing machine.
Overall a great central location from which to explore Tuscany.

Pros: Amazing surroundings. The views are postcard caliber. Pool is beautiful and refreshing on a hot day. Grounds are lovely, with lemon and olive trees. Our kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and the like. Try a cooking class and make delicious Tuscan cuisine. The massage tent by the pool is relaxing and therapeutic.

Cons: As others have said, this isn't a five star hotel. I can't imagine staying here with no AC and no window screens in the peak heat of the summer. The bugs were terrible. My son is still recovering from the nasty spider bites on his face. One night we had bats flying around our room. After that, we had to keep the windows closed at night--which gets stuffy. For the price, I would expect a few more amenities---extra towels, soap, hairdryers, bathroom garbage cans. I found Antonio to be rather vague and uninterested. He seems bored a lot of the time.

Overall: Beautiful surrounds but not very cushy.

Room Tip: The property is not in the town of Poggibonsi (which is nondescript--we only went to town for the gr...

Il Casale di Villore not want to be the RITZ ... Who wants to spend a holiday in Tuscany, in the Tuscan countryside, everybody know you may not have the same comforts of a five star hotel in the center of a city. The insects, if there were not so many as you say (and I doubt very much), are nothing more than an indication of a clean and healthy air as you breathe in many cities. As for me, I am very sorry that you have not found enough of my care ... I am always available and helpful with my clients and I always try to satisfy all my guests as if they were my family... On request I am able to give you extra linens, towels, hairdryer... I never say NO... I am always at disposal of my guests ...as many other reviews say!

Stunning location, beautiful property managed by a great and lovely family!
Excellent private pool between well maintained olive trees with unbelievable views.
Not much negative to say, except perhaps that there is no AC (would have been nice in the bedrooms), which makes you keep the windows open at night causing lots of bugs to enter the rooms, one night we had even a bat flying around in the room which kept us awake untill it flew out of the window again after an hour.
The bathrooms are small in particular the showers (too small), no soap on the sinks, there could have been more eye for detail and luxury to confirm the very luxurous location.
The building (we stayed in the main 3 story appartment) is 800 years old and the top floor bedroom has incredible views which can be enjoyed even lying in bed..
The owner family is super nice and inviting and one night they all baked pizza's in a traditional way in the hundreds years old oven in the courtyard for all the people who stayed at their property, absolutely great party on a hot summer night, thank you Antonio and his nephew who did the baking!!
The location is amazing on the top of a hill surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, many places to visit like San Gimignano, Siena and Casttellina in Chianti, and much more are within 30-45 minutes drives.
Horse riding is also available within 20 minutes, we made a guided tour through the hills and forests which was amazing.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone, and though not cheap we think it is absolutely worth the money.

This place was superb...and a great value. We were very self-sufficient, but Antonio was extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants, sites, and wineries. Set on a picturesque slope not far from Poggibonsi, it was a quiet hideaway, but also very close for daytrips to Chianti, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence, and even Montalcino. Easy check-in and check-out; no hassles. Thanks very much Antonio for making our time there the best.
