last october we stayed, a family of five in this beautiful villa. the place is amazing - so lovely, with a strong toscanic atmosphere. there is a large space of living and dinning room, with a nice large fire place, a nice kitchen, a very lovely bathroom and a large bed room. there is an amazing view of florence (also at night - you can see all the sparkling lights). and you can eat your breakfast outside, at a beautiful sitting area. of course the villa is also very clean. as for the owner - davide, he was very very nice and warm, happy to help with anything and made the stay even nicer. the location is great - a short drive from the next little town, where you can park your car and take the tram to florence.

Last September we spent 5 days at this amazing well maintained farm house which looks like a villa with lovely views of Scandicci and Florence. Great location for exploring Tuscany. Lucca and Pisa to the north, Siena, Arezzo and St Gimignano to the south to name a few.
Davide and his family who run the place are very hospitable and helpful with maps & recommendations and are lovely people too. We had the very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor which has one spacious double bedroom, a lovely new shower room and an open plan well equiped kitchen/ living room with a double sofa bed, dining table for 4 and a small tv set and wireless internet included in rate. Right outside the apartment there are seating areas allocated to each apartment as well as a massive patio area with seating at the back. It has its own remote controlled gate, a large pool in the back yard and a children's splash pool. Breakfast options are either buy a basket full of goods from Davide for €15 that should last a couple of days (individually wrapped croissants, jam, nutella etc,) and/or buy delicious italian cheeses and cold meats at the supermarket in Scandicci. We opted for the latter as this way we got what we wanted. Kitchen had all sorts of pots pans, etc, even washing up liquid. We needed to get our own tea, coffee, food, cooking oil etc., We also liked that there was an oven that we used to warm up our take away on an occasion.
It is located on a hill a couple of Kms away from Scandicci. Scandicci is connected by tram to Florence's main train station which made life a lot easier. The trip takes about 15 mins and has several stops in between. Tram was very convenient and the fare was €1.20 each way. As parking is really bad and expensive in Florence we left the car at the free car park by the tram stop. Davide gave us a map and directions to the tram, there are a couple of stops that are convenient, we preferred the first one, two reasons, 1. we knew the car was at the end of the line upon our return so no risk of missing our stop and 2. the road was wider. One road leading to the farm house was really narrow and not so pleasant to drive in the dark especially as most locals are not very careful drivers so beware. All in all it is a perfect place to explore Tuscany by car. Safe parking inside gate too.

We had stayed at IL PODERACCIO last year, we returned this summer, and again we loved every minute we spent on the property.
The owners are very friendly, helpful and they make you feel right at home, among friends.
The farmhouse is restored with care and it looks beautiful, clean and with gorgeous Tuscan features.
The location is top notch: the house lies on a hill that will take the lovely breeze in the hot summer days. In a few minutes by car you can reach the tranvia that will take you quickly in the heart of Florence for sightseeing or you can drive straight into the hills of Tuscany.
The grounds and the pool are well taken care of and it was great to unwind in the pool after a day of walking.
We rented MAESTRALE apartment with a well equipped kitchen.
We couldn't agree more with the other reviewers on how great this place is. We were very happy for two years in a row and we heartily recommend it.

We stayed for 5-nights in the large room. It was complete with a kitchen, living room, large bedroom, and bathroom. The property is walkable and it has a nice swimming pool and a kiddy pool alongside. The owner-manager couple is the most hospitable in the business; very helpful with questions about the area; they provided for all of our needs. The gentleman's name is Davide. In the mornings he'd bring us fresh eggs from his farm or olive oil from his harvest. The site is immaculate and photo-worthy itself. A quick drive from the property to the tram in Scandecci provides an excellent and inexpensive way to get to and from Florence, in addition.

Last week we spend our holiday in the Maestrale apartment of this farmhouse and had a wonderfull time. The apartment has anything you want; a well equiped kitchen, a comfortable chair and sofa, a nice view over Florence, a large bedroom and a nice private bathroom. The apartment is very clean and brand new (built in 2008 we heard).
There is a very nice swimming pool outside with a large garden and a marvelous view over Florence. The farmhouse is situated just outside Florence, on top of one of the hills that look down over Florence. Within 10 minutes you arrive at the tram station where you can get the tram for only 1,20 euro to arrive at the city center of Florence. The tram departs each 5 minutes or so (there is no schedule) so you can go anytime you want and a tram will be waiting for you and leave within 5 minutes and arrive in the center about 15-20 minutes later. So it couldn't be any better then that; very close to the city center but still situated on a quite place with a marvelous view.
Also Pisa and Sienna are near (about an hour driving) and can easily be visited from this location.
The owners have been very friendly since our first contact by e-mail, we got offered self baked pie (apart from tomatoes and basilicum from the garden) during our stay, in what hotel would that ever happen? I can't imagine that there is any better location then this for visiting Florence and the surroundings.
