“The Villa was very much part of making our trip truly wonderful”
Reviewed 15 June 2011

My wife and our 13yr old son traveled from the USA and enjoyed a wonderful week with Claudio, Sabine and Claudio's father Peter, who were absolutely delightful hosts. The Villa's location is perfect for day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Certaldo, Pisa etc. The Villa overlooks the city of Florence, and the cabena by the pool provided a perfect way to relax after our daily excursions. The local pizzeria in the local village of San Martino alla Palma is excellent and in easy walking distance from the Villa. I'd also reccommentd the steak Florentina at Fiore's (about 10 mins by car). Best way to get to Florence is by train, not exspensive and runns every 5 mins or so from Scandicci, also about 10 mins by car. Although there is a bus stop right outside the Villa, we didn't use it and would reccomend a car. Thank you for being part of our memorable vacation.

My husband and I travelled with friends to Tuscany last summer and found this gem on VRBO website. It was absolutely perfect! We were 4 couples and rented two of the lodgings at Villa La Pergola. It's a must if you want to visit the Tuscan region of Italy and have a home base, especially in July! We would come back from our day trips and cool down in the pool with a breathtaking view of the valley and the city of Florence. We would make our own meals and dine outside by the pool under the pergola.

I can't say enough about this place and the wonderful and helpful hosts. It was worth every penny and made our holiday as close to perfect as you can get.

Thank you Claudio!

My family and I stayed at Villa La Pergola for almost three weeks over March - April of 2010, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa is located on a quiet hillside in Scandicci, which is a quick drive from Firenze (Florence) and actually overlooks the city.
The villa was clean and well laid out with three bedrooms and one bathroom on the first floor and the kitchen / dining area and living room on the main floor.
There was a bus stop just outside the villa which made getting in to Florence very easy. Return trips were a bit more of a challenge, and getting taxis in Scandicci often meant a wait of 30 minutes or more. We would strongly recommend having access to a vehicle if you're staying here. There are however, a small grocery store, a restaurant and a winery all within walking distance ofthe villa.
Claudio and Sabine were absolutely wonderful! We hired Sabine to take us on a day trip to Lucca, which we found thoroughly entertaining and informative. Claudio's father is an absolute gem - our 3 year old got sick the day after we arrived, and Claudio's father very thoughtfully and kindly went to pick up some necessities for our child.
When we left, we were already planning our next trip back!

We traveled to Villa la Pergola with our two children, our son-in-law, our daughter-in-law and our little granddaughter. Everyone loved Villa la Pergola. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We all visited Florence multiple times, using the quiet and sleek electric train available down in the valley. It was easy to access the autostrada if we wanted to visit other cities or the beautiful small towns of Tuscany. We enjoyed walking into the tiny village of San Martino alla Palma each morning to pick up delicious pastries for breakfast. The view of Florence from the pool was breathtaking. We especially loved shopping for food in the Central Market in Florence and cooking delicious dinners at the Villa. Though my husband and I have been to Florence many times, staying at Villa la Pergola with our family made it a truly memorable experience. .

When my husband and I married, we wanted to spend our honeymoon in Florence, but our did not have the time or the finances. We promised ourselves that we would go someday and we did. We were thrilled to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversay at the Villa La Pergola. Everything about the Villa, our hosts, Claude and Sabine, and the city of Florence was marvelous.

The Villa La Pergola is a beautiful home in the hills with stunning views of Florence and surrounding areas. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and handsome. Our hosts were welcoming and very informative. Sabine took us on a walking tour of Florence that was enjoyable and full of historical facts sprinkled with some surprises. I would do this again in a second!

My only complaint is that my husband and our friends did not have another week to stay at the Villa. We will return.
