“Brilliant week”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Had a fantastic weeks holiday here with my mum arrived 5/6/14. Everything was fresh clean and spotless, rooms cleaned daily (had to nick toilet rolls to make sure had enough though) huge towels in bathroom and hired beach towel at 10euro deposit a day.
We paid for a sea view and thats what we got it was beautiful, we made the mistake on the second day of taking a walk on the beach which was shingle! It hurt a lot for a few hours after. Downside the sun set at the front of the hotel so no spectacular sunsets over the sea. Neither of these things being the hotels fault.
There was always sunbeds available! Sue our great rep said there was over 1000 available! haha.
Its chaos on the friday all the spanish arrive, can seem very rude and abrupt (some are). They go home sunday though and it goes back to peace and tranquility.
The AI was fabulous always a choice available for all ages. The breakfasts are your typical full english smoked bacon, funny sausage, boiled scrambled and fried eggs, beans ect. as well as cereal and numerous breads. Lunch and dinner has 3 bars of food all the same, I used the main one as went through the door as got changed more frequent and stayed fresh. Then theres a chef cooking meat and fish in front of you. Also for children there is a bar with pasta's, pizzas, sausage rolls and things like that. Great times as well, breakfast is 8-11 lunch is 1-4 and dinner is 7-11 (don't quote me its been a few weeks now haha) but always plenty of time if you go out of the hotel on trips and things.
All water is provided as not all hotels do, and you can ask for a packed lunch.
The main big pool is salt water, the kids pool and fun pool is chlorine. The slides are brilliant and the pools are kept very clean.
Theres a lot of ups to this hotel but theres a few downs which are not the hotels choice. Outside of the hotel there is very little, its a good 20 minute walk to the "gorrila" where there seems to be a lot more bars and restaurants.
We done 3 trips. Only two will be available now as one was a one off in Mojácar. The first was the market, wasn't what we was expecting and was disappointing for 19euro, I think if we would of done the main tour in the centre itself maybe it would of been better.
The second trip was a fabulous day out to Fort Bravo Mini Hollywood!! I recommend this to anybody and everybody it was fabulous. The zoo seems like a trekk but is actually not that bad. And the western shows are brilliant entertainment.

Overall if your looking for a hotel to chill out around the pool and do a couple of trips this is fabulous. If your upbeat people who want nightlife all the time you'll be bitterly disappointed. But hey can't please everyone.

Room Tip: Ask for high up, and defiantly pay for a sea view. Could end up looking at a car park otherwise.

Firstly I would question Kev (early review) about the size of the beach. The prom and beach go for mies and miles. It is shingle which isn't great for children (although it doesn't seem to bother the locals) but we swam in the sea and had a great time.
Secondly, I would agree with the reviewer that commented that there isn't enough luggage space. There was only two of us and we were there for a week and we struggled so it would be difficult for a family or anyone staying two weeks.
We arrived late and went straight to the main restaurant. It was like hell let loose! Lots of children (at 10.00 at night) both in the bar and restaurant. Same at breakfast. I thought the holiday was going to be hell! However, we found out there were three other restaurants that were al-la-carte. You had to book these on the day but they were brilliant. The service and food was great, especially in the Mediteranean Bar.
The hotel was clean and the service was excellent. Despite our misgivings at first we ended up having a brilliant holiday.
Two excellent pools, one for the children and one for adults. Pool cold when you first got in but after a quick swim warm enough (as in most outdoor pools anywhere). Animation team were brilliant and related to both adults and children (enjoyed aqua-aerobics immensely).
You could eat as much as you wanted from snacks to meals. Drinks were great too, disappointed only one lager but everything else fantastic.
Staff constantly cleaning around pool area so no litter.
Didn't seem to be much life outside of the complex but that could have been that the main season was only just started.
Would recommend a bus trip into Almeria. No need to book wth rep as it is only 2 euros each way and very easy to sort it out yourself.

Room Tip: 518 had brilliant views but was rather windy at times.

we got back a few days ago following a 2 week stay
the choice of food/drinks/snacks/ice cream was really good, however if you are someone who drinks mild/bitter then I can imagine the lager supplied may not be for you
we stayed around the large free form pool which was cold when you 1st got in but you got used to it ,the pool did warm up later in the afternoon
the rooms were cleaned daily and were clean, the pool area was also cleaned regularly ,the beach was a very small shingle type so take good beach shoes, but it was spotless and there was easy access to it from the hotel.
the entertainment was vey hit and miss but it seems like there was more entertainment choices during the last week as the season ramps up, the magic show is one to watch though
2 of our party did catch the bug that has been going around ,which was a 24hr thing, the Thomas Cook rep was not too interested when we told her and I know of other people who reported the illness to her that had the same result, but she leaves soon so hopefully the new rep may be different
there are several bars and supermarkets outside the hotel but nothing major as you are a bit out of the main town but that is probably to be expected
in the end we would go back again which says it all as far as we are concernedor kids,

one word of warning for families with double width buggies ,the lifts are really small and we saw people really struggle with this issue

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June, I had read mixed reviews before I came. Myself, my husband and our two year old son loved it! Rooms were spacious and kept clean, both pool areas were great no problems getting sun beds at all, my son loved the slides in the baby pool. Great choice of food, places to eat for lunch and dinner. If your travelling with a young child who drink cows milk, there is a supermarket next door that sells milk and we also got milk form the buffet restaurant on some occasions there is a microwave to heat it up. We would definitely go back to this complex.

We booked this holiday with Thomas cook and after an 8 hour delay from Gatwick we didn't expect it to take an hour to check in. We were a family of 4 staying for 2 weeks for the first 2 weeks of June
Firstly the room didn't have enough storage space for 4 people on a 14 night holiday & secondly it was very small.
Me and my family have been on many AI holidays ranging from Mexico & the Carribean to Cyprus and Turkey this was the most basic we have been to ! the food was so bland and had no taste. There was variety but nothing had any flavour we are not fussy eaters but everything was so boring our party and people we met on holiday called it beige food .The a la carte restaurants were not much better the same food but just dished up for you.
The larger swimming pool was best as it was less busy but freezing! the swimming pool with the slides was too busy and everyone was on top of each other.
The area in which the hotel is situated is run down with nothing to do it has many derelict buildings, restaurants and hotels.
While we were there we were made aware of a stomach bug going around and most people we spoke to had a family members who contracted it .
On a positive note the only good thing was the drinks it had a wide selection ranging from cava & spirits too liqueur coffee.
If you like a basic & cheap holiday this is for you but if you are expecting frills don't bother.

hello,
I've been there for 2 weeks during my honeymoon in june and I'm absolutly satisfied. The hotel is quite big (5 levels) and with Zoraida Garden hotel it gives a giant hotel complex with 2 swimming pools (water park for kids and normal unregular for adults). Food was great: sea food, normal european and fast food meals, lot of fruits and vegetables, barbecue, sweats - for sure everybobdy will find something what he likes. The crew was very kind. Room - normal size with giant bed. I could see fresh repair works results - everything was clean and nice.
I love beach - wide and almost empty with palm treas.
Every day there was some show in the hotel: magic show, flamenco dance, live music, cabaret. Poor animation team - not interested in games and plays with guests.
Obviously I fully recomend this hotel. For sure I will be back there.

Room Tip: Viev from rooms on 0 level is poor - take higher ones :)

We always read reviews left but never leave them but felt this hotel deserved it.
We have recently stayed at Evenia Zoodoria Resort as a family (2adults 2children).
The room - was large, clean, no major noise problems. We did not over look the sea but didn’t feel this was a problem as we was not going to spend much time in our room. House keeping did knock every day and clean the room even if the do not disturb sigh was on the door and even when we had told her not today she just came back later but we didn’t see this as a major issue – her cleaning was on but if you want bedding changed make sure you ask, my son spilt jelly all over a pillow case and even thou we had put it in the bath she took it out and put it back on the bed.
Reception was very helpful and there English was good they even translated some information so we didn’t have a problem at the bar and food hall.
The food – this is the main reason we write this review, there was plenty out, all hot and all looking fresh. The variation was not fantastic but there was enough to eat. They always had pasta, chips, pizza and meat on the grill. There was always something even a fussy child could eat (even if it was the same every day) BUT my son has food allergy’s and the main restaurant was fantastic about this. On the first night we approached a member of staff who got use Jose (he was brill) he took us around every night advising if we could eat the food and what he didn’t know he checked there was no guessing involved they even brought us the packets to check ourself s. They even got pasta for us this didn’t contain egg and he couldn’t have have the chicken nuggets so they made him his own there went above and beyond there duty and with this in mind we are probably returning.
The bar by the adults pool severed toasted sandwich’s and hot dogs during the day which was nice for a snack.
Pool/entertainment – the pool was cold (not the hotels fault) but my kids still went in and had lots of fun, the kids pool was large enough that the kids was not on top of each other but you could still keep and eye on them.
There is an indoor pool but you have to wear a swimming hat (they provide an shower cap) but my little on refused to keep it on so we couldn’t use this pool much.
The only bad thing about t he entertainment is it started so late – mini disco 9pm :( there is a small park to the side of the children’s pool there is not much there but the children had fun.
