Family trip of 11 for 2 weeks all inclusive with Thomas Cook.
About 45 minute transfer from Almeria airport.
Hotel very clean, if you are up early enough you see the hordes of cleaners inside and out, gardeners and all other staff prepping for the day. Rooms clean and tidy, nothing special but adequate. 5 English channels (2 for kids) on the tv. Air con remains on during the whole day regardless of key card in electric meter which is good. Safety deposit box 45 euros (20 is a deposit)
All inclusive is from 7:30 when breakfast opens till 2am when the disco bar shuts.
Good variety of food, and you have choice of the 2 hotels main restaurants or 3 al a carte (very difficult to book due to popularity) drinks and ice creams along with snack at the bars.
Entertainment team is run by to ex pats, both whom have worked at this hotel for 27/24 respectively, aqua aerobics very popular and lots going on for all ages. Evening shows are currently running on a weekly cycle so repetitive( one parrot show is enough) but the magician was ok. However all main shows are at central plaza which is outside and comfortable this sits between then 2 hotels and next to the pool. Other minor acts and karaoke are offered in the hotels internal bars areas,

Lots of Spanish holiday here and it's obvious why, great hotels overall. Not a lot nearby but if you like to lounge in the sun and eat and drink all day, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Ground floor or 1st floor as lifts get very busy.

We went to this hotel as a family of 5 and were a little unsure what to expect after reading a mixture of good and bad reviews. All I can say is, DO NOT be put off by the bad reviews, this hotel is fantastic. I have to agree it's more of a family hotel than a hotel for couples. There are lots of children's activities, though some of the slides in the children's pool are definitely big enough for adults. There are activities for grownups as well such as water aerobics and water polo. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pools in both hotels, though if you want to gurantee a sundbed in the afternoon I would recomend putting your towels down on some beds when you go down for breakfast as they all get taken up very quickly. I'm a little confused as to why some people have said the food was mainly Spanish.. as there was a huge variety of food from pizza and chips to paella, moussaka, roast lamb and steak. Quite frankly I don't think there would be anyone who would have trouble finding something to eat here. It's quite a remote area with not much around, if you exit the hotel on the beach front and walk right for about 15-20 minutes you will come to a small town with a few restaurants, bars and shops, there's also a small area with kids slides, water zorbing, trampolines and a candy floss stand which was very lively in the evening. If you walk about 20 minutes in the opposite direction you will come to a little marina with one or two cafes where you can stop and have a drink, there isn't much to do this way but it's a nice area to go for a walk. There's also a bus stop out the front of the hotel which you takes your in to Almeria town centre and there's a big shopping complex (unfortunately I can't remember what it was called) which is the way to Almeria town centre. The only downside about this hotel is the evening entertainment, the girls who did the kids dances looked like they didn't have a clue what they were doing. The magic show on a Tuesday was good, but that was about the only highlight during the weeks evening entertainment. Overall I think this is a fantastic hotel. with great variety of all-inclusive food, drinks and snacks. You can book into any of the a la carte restaurants as many times as you like, though the buffet restaurants are just as good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

I will try to be as fair as possible in this review because there is something not quiet right with this hotel but I cant put my finger on it. We have just returned from a 7nt stay at the Zoraida, overall we had a good time. I have probably been spoilt by other Spanish chains that this doesn't live up to. Overall though it is quiet good and I couldn't really find fault with it. I did have a couple of days with an upset tummy but nothing major but it did put a black mark on an otherwise enjoyable holiday. It is aimed at the Spanish, they have different coloured wrist bands and seem to have more choice on AI. Spanish children are pretty boistrous, they push and shove and are generally rude.

The Resort - it's made up of two hotels with two main pool areas, the adult pool with a small paddling pool and the splash pool with slides. Each hotel has its own buffet restaurant and bar area, you need to eat from the buffet within your hotel. There are plenty of sunbeds within the gardens and around the pools.

Pools - splash pool is great with the younger kids one being 0.4m deep. My 3 yr old loved it and developed heaps of water confidence. The bigger slides have a separate pool. Both are busy but quieten down between 1330 & 1600hrs when the the Spanish go for Siesta. If you want a sun bed in front of the pool be at the doors by 0700hrs!! There are a fair few life guards but they could do with managing the smaller kids pool a bit as older kids can take over and cause havoc on slides for the younger kids.

Food - buffet restaurant is OK but I've had better. There was a limited choice of hot prepared food but loads of freshly cooked meat and salads. That said there are three Al a Carte restaurants, we didn't try them as had to queue up to book and couldn't be bothered it all seemed such a faff and it wouldn't guarantee a table anyway! Snacks are available from noon at the Italian behind the splash pool, this includes salads and fresh fruit. The adult pool has a bar serving hot dogs and burgers etc. We were pointed too but never found the tapas bar!

Bars - loads, Three for the evening and 5 for daytime. There is no problem getting a drink or ice cream.

Rooms - nice, comfortable, bit Ikea ish but clean. The bathroom flooded every time we had a shower as the screen didn't meet the bath. The Air con and ceiling fan were a good combo making it very comfortable. We emailed the hotel beforehand and asked for top floor which we got (top marks for that) we had booked a sea view but in hindsight this was bad choice. It was a FANTASTIC view but very noisy as we over looked the entertainment which didn't finish until after midnight. By 10pm us and our 3 yr old were ready for bed after a day having fun in the pool.

Entertainment - I'd recommend the small bar next to the plash pool where they usually have some quieter live music without 100s of kids running around. Entertainment on the whole was ok.

Roquetas is a small resort, the beach is shingle which we didn't like, its very Spanish which we liked and there are loads of bars in either direction from the hotel along the sea front. We had a horse and carriage ride and hired a bike and cycled to the little castle.

I'm not sure if the holiday was worth the money though, I've had better and if the flights had been a better time we could have gone to Cyprus for less! I would return to this hotel for a short break but they need to sort out the issue with the bug. A thorough deep clean would be a start, the lifts weren't that clean and I wonder just how many people touch the buttons everyday!!

On a separate note if you like the certainty of seats together don't book Thomas Cook with Easyjet flights as you cant pre book and this was an issue for me as I don't fly well.

Room Tip: If you want an early night ask for land view.

Decent hotel but was spoiled by 5 out of 8 getting sickness bug dont think it is hotels fault once one comes with it it soon spreads round, the baby got it but then recovered but on flight home he was burning up turned out to be measles so be aware because he would have been contagious whilst we was there. We travelled 15th june for 2 weeks. Great family hotel but not really for couples very clean..food not always hot, has great time considering

Room Tip: Sea view is gorgeous , other side is quieter

Great place to holiday with a family, food was lovely, rooms and hotel were clean and tidy, the 'grab a sun lounger' game was a bit of a pain as you had to get down there about 7am ti get one by the kids pool but otherwise, great. Kids entertainment started very late, 9.30-10pm, my kids were fast asleep by then (2 & 4) but could see the stage from our balcony so didn't feel like we were missing out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would go again.

We travelled with Thomas Cook as an all inclusive holiday staying for 7 days. When we arrived at the Airport we were met by the rep who directed us to our coach, the coaches were well air conditioned. It took about 45 minutes to get to the hotel. Check in was manic as all arrivals from all 3 airports needed to check in at once. When we finally got to our room it was lovely, there were 2 double beds when there was only 2 of us. We had the view from the front entrance of the hotel which was perfect and lovely to look at on a night. The room was really clean with toiletries provided, the cleaners came everyday to tidy your room and change the towels if needed. Food wise there was the main dining hall which had a great range of food with show cooking in the corner, the waiters waited on you for your drinks and the cleaners were very efficient at cleaning the tables. there was the pool bar outside were you could get chips, hotdogs, etc. We found that finding a sun lounger was never a problem whatever time of day it was, we would go down at 2 and find 2 together right by the pool. There was plenty of entertainment in the day and on a night, with karaoke, dancers, magic shows, etc. with different entertainment on in different areas. In the evening we played bingo were the animation team tried there best at English to make us feel welcome. There were plenty of excursions available from the rep, however we decided to buy tickets to the Waterpark from her for €23 each, you have to make your own way there but it's only a short bus ride away and is well worth a visit.
There are 3 theme restaurants within the resort which are only for the all inclusive guests, you have to book to eat there and to manage to gain a reservation you need to be queuing well before 12. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant which was delicious.
The drinks available on the all inclusive are brilliant with cocktails and cava included. Crisps and ice creams are also available throughout the day.
We paid for the safe in our room for the week which cost €32 however you get €20 back at the end when you check out. I would definitely recommend having this.
The only fault we had with the hotel was that the bar staff weren't very friendly however this may just be a Spanish thing.
All in all this hotel and holiday was perfect and we will definitely be booking for next year.
I've noticed that people say there are no bars nearby, which is ridiculous as right outside the hotel along the beach front are loads.
Ignore the bad reviews! This place is lovely.

Room Tip: We had a view over the hotel entrance which was lovely!
