We loved the mountain and all the different slopes. Everything was well connected and the staff including instructors were very friendly. We will go back again!

After coming to Formigal most years for the last 22 shows that it is a fabulous resort with lots to offer all abilities. Since Aramon took over a few years ago the quality and variety of pistes has improved immensly with the installation of some high spec chairs and lifts. Formigal is a wonderful village that still has a very Spanish feel to it with some great bars, restaurants and clubs. The level of snow has been very high over all these years and I have never experienced any time when there was insufficient snow to ski. Ski & Boot hire is alot cheaper in the village than at the station and the quality of gear is of a high standard. Lyn Servicios Inmobiliarios is owned by a lovely English lady called Lyn and she rents well equipped and maintained apartments which are spread around the village. I'm reluctant to write this review, not that it doesn't deserve it, but I want to keep it all to myself!!!

From what i understand the Aragon goverment are looking into plans of integrating the mountain ranges of Astun and Candanchu with Formigal, this would make it much more interesting!, with regards to the ski-ing, their is something for everyone, whilst it's not a massive ski-ing area there are a few valleys going upto Portalet and the ski-ing is varied enough to make it entertaining, lifts are well organised and modern, waiting was approx 15 minutes during the holiday period, lift passes are similiar to those in the alps, their is a bit of lunchtime entertainment at Anayet where prices for a drink and meal are reasonable!

The town itself is relatively boring and lacks any real charm although their are a few ''half'' decent restaurants, many police on the streets stopping cars (Looking for ITA so i was told).

Lacks a bit of character but the ski-ing is ok and i've not seen any better on the Spanish side of the Pyranneas!

We were warned. We'd planned a trip to the Pyrenees to ski for our wedding anniversary, and although Formigal was scheduled to open on November 25, there was not enough snow. When it finally did snow (on December 4) there was so much the resort couldn't open at all. It took a day for them to get it all under control.

It was a different experience from the States (for decades I've only skied Deer Valley, Utah). The positives were the efficiency of the ski pass scanning process, the ability to ski from mountain to mountain, the sound system at the base lodge blasting salsa at 11:00 a.m. (!), and the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. The negatives were snowboarders (not permitted at DV), the process of boarding the lifts (at one area it was a "line" twenty people deep and twenty wide, all jockeying for position, planting poles on skis everywhere), and the lack of groomed slopes--but the huge onslaught of snow might have had something to do with that.

I'd return, but would explore other ski resorts first.

Very sunny when we were there so not enough snow. Blues and Reds open, but very heavily used so snow was very slushy by about 2pm so skiing was over by then.
Town itself is very dead during the week but very lively at the weekend.
