saw some bad reviews about the nereida but i found it great, beautifull location, high standard of cleanliness, good food, tranquil location but easy and quick access to everything including the wild nite life of san antonio which is a 10 minute boat ride away costing 2 euros just a few mins along the beach.vrry family orientated, two pools with loads of floats for the kids.only one hastle, you have to be up at about 8.15 am to sit and wait till 9pm to wait for them to unlock the sunbeds, then theres a mad frenzy to get your space and bed for the day, there was nearly afight over sunbeds when i was there, between an english guy who had been patiently waiting and a cheeky german guy podging the que.the english guy won apart from that it was brill and i would defo go back loved it debbie,42,chanai 16, lewis 17,and d'sharn 8 from dudley westmidlands

My first night in the Nereida hotel made me decide to hit the road and head for a quality hotel in Barcelona. The hotel has some crazy rules. You have to make a deposit to use the remote control of the TV. You are not allowed to take your own food and drinks with you to the swimming pool. One is also not allowed to bring their own drinks in during lunch and dinner. In advance it was said the hotel was equipped with satellite TV, it turned out there was only one in the bar area of the hotel. It was said there was internet access in the hotel, it turned out there was; only you had to pay for it. One EURO per 15 minutes. The room in Nereida was incredible noisy. In the room next to me was a German fellow. At 22.30 hours he did put on a movie and it must have been an interesting one as he screamed several times watching it in a way he almost gave me a hart attack. After the movie he called a girlfriend and I could litterly follow the half hour conversation. At 02.00 AM it was time for incredible loud French rap and house music what lasted for about a quarter of an hour. Then somebody from the hotel staff took measures. During the whole night the elevator, size 1,5 mtr by 0.5 mtr. and the slamming of the elevator door could be heard. A lot of guests decided to take the stairs, probably because of the size of the elevator, and this resulted in a constantly annoying ticking of ladies shoe heels on the marble of the stairs. As from 03.00 AM the German started snoring, I listened to it for about three quarters for an hour, then took my luggage, handed the key to the receptionist and drove my car to the beach where I slept for a couple of hours in the car till light break. From there I drove to Barcelona, stayed in the H10 for a couple of days and had a great week in Spain at the end.

Good value for money. Very easy to find from Girona airport as the hotel is on a main road/roundabout. About 1.5 hours.
The rooms, apart from the 4th floor, are fairly spacious with good sized bathrooms. The 4th floor is under the roof and although okay for one would be cramped for a couple. Clean towels daily and bedlinen changed every two days.
The dining room is spacious and air conditioned with meals served as "help yourself" buffet. Food generally good with various choices.Didn't like the coffee!
Pool good with loungers and umbrellas but many people "reserved" by putting towels in place early. Bar by the pool also good for drinks and not overly pricey. Table tennis in the same area was well used by my grandsons.
The bedrooms are not air-conditioned and, at the end of July/begining August, the heat was too much, especially on 4th floor where I was, even though I had a fan. Also, rooms overlooking main road/roundabout, were noisy from "revellers" around 3 to 4am plus screeching traffic.
Staff at reception helpful - some spoke better English than others.
Drinks etc were charged to your room and paid at the end of the stay - but beware - they like you pay cash not by card.
Car park very small and unless you ask when you book there may not be a space. However, spaces near to the hotel were not hard to find.
Overall, a decent hotel, very reasonable rates, good position for visiting other areas. Would probably not want to stay again in summer - too hot and too noisy but may be okay other times.
