We spent six nights in room 111 in hotel Bell Aire & we had a great experience. As I work in hotels myself I have a very critical eye when it comes to service & standards. The great thing about this hotel is that it is family run & the location is just perfect....you could not ask for any better....beach just two minutes walk....shops restaurants ...just five minutes! Would recommend this hotel to family & friends..!Special thanks to Ramon who made us feel very welcome.

We spent 3 night in the hotel Bell Aire. I travelled with my friend and her boyfriend as we were visiting her sister in L'Estartit so had booked a room for 3 adults. Upon arrival to the hotel the room wasn't quite ready though this was to be expected as check out is not till 12 pm so we left our cases went for food and returned later on and were handed the keys to our room. The room was very small considering there were 3 adults staying there. Two beds parellel to one another then an extra camp bed opposite the ends of the other beds making the gap to the door very small and difficult to get through, also providing limited space to get read etc everything just seemed very cramped like an extra bed had been squeezed into a room suitable for 2 people. my friend queried this with the receptionist and the director of the hotel who speaks little english and found it difficult to understand the point we were making, but was told all the rooms were like that and the hotel was full anyway so there was nothing he could do despite the pictures on Booking.com making the rooms look larger because there is no 3rd bed in them. My friend pointed out the bed caused a fire hazard as it part blocked the exit and their response was they hadn't had a fire in fifty years. The room may be big enough for a child and two adults but we wouldn't book in future for 3 adults.
The maids came in once during our stay and changed towels, made beds etc and the general cleanliness of hotel was good. Room had a t.v. average size and balcony but with just 2 chairs no table.
They insist that you hang your room key up on a board next to reception as you leave the hotel each time but this also gives people the chance to help theirselves to any room key which isn't very safe in my opinion.
Breakfast is served 7 till 10 am each morning and consists of ham, cheese, baguettes, croissants, bread, butter, jam, milk, yoghurt, cornflakes then hot drinks, orange or pinapple juice there is a big selection of tables to choose from and some are outside which was nice.
The hotel is just a short walk to the square (5 mins) and about a 15 min walk to beach plus there are several supermarkets 10 mins away.
If you return in the early hours as we tended too you have to be let in by the security guard as the doors are locked.
The hotel has no swimming pool but i you turn left out of the hotel and walk straight down the road on the left there is the hotel Flamingo and we used the swimming pool there and spent the rest on the lovely beach.
Overall we had a lovely 3 night stay in L'Estartit we had not been in 5 years but regular visited there as children/ teenagers the only let down was the size of the room and luckily it was only for 3 days/nights so we managed

Bel Air is an excellent 3-star hotel. The price/quality is very good. The hotel is managed by the family and the service and attention, I have experienced is better than in many luxury hotels. The infrastructure is basic as in many beach side hotels at the Costa Brava, but all is clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast has all what you can expect and the staff looks for a continuous supply. The coffee and drinks were of excellent quality. You are located very close to village center and beach. In the top season you have still enough parking space for free, which is more exceptional for a holiday place like this. Certainly a hotel I would recommend for a relaxing holiday at the beach side. Stayed in room 118.

We recently stayed in Bell Aire and had a great experience. Rooms are basic but clean and quiet. It's a great place to base yourself for a snorkelling trip out to Las Medas islands or the pretty little beaches along the Costa Brava.Ramon who runs the hotel is an absolute star. He couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. He recommended the most amazing restaurant La Placa which is a 20 minute drive away but well worth it. The restaurant is in Sant Feliu de Boada and we had a 3 course meal including wine and a glass of cava in a magical setting of a little medieval town for 20 euros. Highly recommended!

Ignore all the bad reviews about this hotel. You do not go to Spain to sit in the hotel room to admire the furniture, watch TV and eat English food.

This is a very comfortable hotel that has character. It uses state of the art technology in reception and the quaint switchboard is a historical feature rather than a functioning unit. The hotel is central to the beach, shops, buses, bars and retaurants which are only 5 minutes walk away. The lack of air conditioning is not a problem because the balcony doors can be left open without fear of intrusion.

It is a very safe hotel. The staff are willing to assist in every way. All staff, owners, housekeepers, waitresses are extremely friendly and go out of their way to oblige. An excellent team. WiFi is free and it works throughout the hotel. Free parking is available all around the vicinity. L'Estartit is a lovely place to stay with nice surrounding places to visit.

If you want to sit by a pool alongside English idiots eating fish and chips then this is not the hotel for you. We will definitely stay in this hotel the next time we visit L'Estartit. Congratulations to Jorge, Ramon and the team.
