Description: The White Hart, Broadoak is set in the rural country side surrounded by many beautiful land marks such as Little Dean Jail, Gloucester cathedral and the River Servern. Close by are also popular tourist towns Gloucester and Cheptow. The Whitehart, Broadoak offers something for everyone. The landlady Helen and her staff team at the White Hart, Broadoak, would like to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to everyone in this family run bar and restaurant. The Whitehart itself consists of an open plan bar area, cosy restaurant, inviting conservatory, A beer garden which looks out over the river Severn.

Had a lovely walk in the forest of dean, popped in for a bite to eat on sunday afternoon. The b barlady was sadly very rude, we were not told that part of our meal was not available today. When it arrived without a portion that was detailed on the menu, they offered us a menu to pick a different accompanying side dish, at the charge to us for £2.50. The waiter was very lovely and apologetic but I was dissapointed by the management. Dissappointing!

Went for my daughter in laws birthday and the whole experience was very diisapionting. The orders got mixed up, the waiter went to take each meal to a different table at least three times. We had to ask for the extras that were ordered. Three of us had rib eye steak which was not cooked as requested and was a very thin piece of steak. The onion rings & chips were so fatty they left a taste in the mouth for hours. Not all that was on the menu was on the plates. My husband had fish and chips hardly fresh at all a piece of battered fish you could buy in any supermarket - he can still taste the fattyness from his whole meal. We couldn't finish our meal and complaing fell on deaf ears as we had paid so they could offer free desert but apart from the fact there was nothing we would've chosen we didn't want to chance it, and could still taste the main. Will never go there again.

We are deeply Sorry that this abysmal attempt at service. Unfortunately sometimes mistakes do happen, however suffice to say that the chef at that time no longer works for us, so service is back to our usual high standard. Come and see for yourselves!

Looking for lunch, about 12.30, the sign said 'open as usual', we waited at the bar, talking loudly to attract attention, no one came from the inner recesses of the establishment. Can't judge the quality of food or drinks after 5 or 6 minutes we went a little further down the road to another pub. Pity, there's a wonderful view of the River Severn.

We regularly come here, great in the summer to sit out by the river. However when we sat inside this time the young staff seemed to be a bit too laid back, and the music was too modern and too loud. We gathered that the manageress was not in so they were taking a few liberties perhaps. Shame as really music in this type of pub should be easy listening and low enough so you can talk over it.

However food was good, portions large and always freshly made, no frozen microwaved stuff here.

I have been several times over the last two years for Sunday lunch and the meal is always very good here. Visited again today(Sunday) - Roast beef very tender, yorkshire puddings and a wide variety of fresh (not frozen) vegetables, with delicious gravy. For the price £7.50 - excellant
