“Fine food in a lovely location”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Visited here a few times now and have to say the the food is very good, fresh and uses locally sourced ingredients. The location of the pub is perfect for a visit if walking from Mossley or Ashton. Staff are welcoming and very helpful. Bar area is small and can get busy early doors on a Friday but has a nice atmosphere. Would recommend to anybody

“Regular visitor”
Reviewed 21 January 2014 via mobile

Really like this restaurant and I think it's the best quality in the local area at the moment.

It is a bit on the pricey side and the menu is quite limited but every time I have been I have found the staff very helpful and attentive.

The pub itself is very well looked after and you can see that there has been a lot of money spent modernising it from the old public house it was.

The food I have always found freshly made and fantastic quality.

Well recommended but I would advise booking a table at weekends.

“Will not be returning”
Reviewed 6 December 2013 via mobile

First choice of meal-unavailable, and they had only just opened. Food was average, not much taste. They then charged us incorrectly, when we pointed out they had charged us £5 more than advertised on the specials board they stated that it had been written incorrectly and very rudely refused to honour this. Very disappointing, rude staff, try the heartshead just down the road much nicer food and better customer service!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

I arrived here on Friday expecting a lovely meal - I ordered the Three Cheese n Onion Pie. When it arrived it was spot the pie - it came with 6 CHIPS & Veg, The waitress was very excited about the size of the Chips I said never mind the Chips I need to spot the Pie - she must have known it was a minute portion as she brought me another slice - must admit I couldn't taste the Cheese..
My friend had the Steak pie and he was also disappointed as he expected in a deep dish and not a flan dis. they served it with a jug of gravy which was placed in the middle of his plate to make it look as though he was eating plenty.....The only good thing about the place was the Real Ales.. will definitely not be going back.. Also they need to update the website as the price of meals are dearer when you are in the pub.. Will not be going back and neither will I recommend it to anyone.
