thought I would visit on mothers day after a pleasant meal last year but what a difference 12 months have made ,service was appalling 30 minutes wait for starter which I must admit was worth the wait . then after a further 25 minute wait main course was served with a sarcastic comment from the owner after we had asked why the meal was late in an almost deserted restaurant . when the meal arrived the veg were ok reminded me of school dinners but the meat was very poor quality . the was thinly sliced but accompanied by Yorkshire pudding as advertised however the pork loin and crackling was minus the crackling and tasted awful . desserts were ok but we left without bothering with coffee something we have never done before , a very poor meal and we will NOT be returning .

Friendly hotel with a warm feel, it's not my usual choice and feel it's targeted at the older market as the decor although looks new was old fashioned. The bed wasn't very comfortable and had a wooly blanket and a sheet which I wasn't too impressed with, not very hygienic.

The food was ok. Nothing special, prices were maybe a bit more than I'd expect. The menu layout needs looked at, some items have no description to say what it comes with ie mixed grill. Could be anything. Also it's a list, there's no separation of different food types, very difficult to read.

We have used the hotel restaurant for several years and went there on 01-03-2014. The new menu is now vastly overpriced pub food and not very good quality at that. We wondered why not many people were in the place and now we know why. We would have complained but our elderly aunt did not want to create a fuss.

We booked here because it was at least £20 cheaper than another local place, and were very happy with our choice.

It was set as long tables so we were with other people which meant we were immediately making friends.

The meal was well presented, all hot, and good sized tasty portions. The cheese board was especially good.

The bar was easy to get served, the staff were excellent all night, from service to cleanup, non stop.

Music and DJ was good, and he ensured he played everyone's requests. We danced all night, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We have now booked for the Valentines dance which is also excellent value, and are looking forward to this too.

I big thanks to all the staff who worked on the night making sure we had a fantastic time.

This is the first time we have been to the Broadoak for New Years Eve, my husband used to drink here and said we should try it. What a brilliant night, the food was delicious and the entertainment spot on. Really enjoyed ourselves and everything ran like a clockwork dream, no waiting at the bar for a drink and all the staff were friendly. Looking forward to next year and will be booking again. Excellent Night!!!!!

Just been to the Broadoak Hotel to check out the new menu and new refurbishment and it's fair to say I was very disappointed.
On arrival found that there was only one table occupied, when we then selected a table we were told it was reserved, yet there was not notice informing customers of this.
The Prawn Cocktail, Nacho and Tomato soup starters were very good, however the Thai Sword fish with rice noodles was very bland and the Hunters chicken was very sweet.

Wont be rushing back!!

We spent New Years Eve at the Broadoak this year. The price we paid for a 5 course meal with music was really a good value for money. They had it just right, not crammed in you had room to move around. The table settings were lovely, bit and pieces of games balloons etc. the meal was lovely and credit to all the staff who worked their socks off to make sure everyone had a good time.
Well done I will certainly return.
