We stayed at "Parkside" in June 2011 with a group of 28 walkers. The guest house is relatively basic but kept clean and the food was good both at breakfast and evening meal. At breakfast you helped yourself to juices and cereals but the main course was served to you followed by toast with plenty of tea and coffee.
You had to order your evening meal from the menu in the morning for the evening meal.
It was classed as full board and we were given a packed lunch which consisted of 2 sandwiches, crisps, fruit, a small packet of biscuits and a drink which was adequate for us whilst walking. There are tea making facilites in the rooms so we were able to fill our flasks.
At the evening meal all 3 courses were served to you. You could buy drinks for your evening meal but after that the bar shut and guests either went down into the village or stayed in the lounge.
Tea, coffee and biscuits was served around 9.00pm for those who stayed in.
The guest house is situated in nice grounds and has a bowling green and a putting green.
Any amount of guests can go from single people to groups like us.
It is a non profit making organisation
Our group is going again in 2012 but we are not because we like to go somewhere different all the time for our holidays. May go again sometime in the future.
