We stayed in room 17 & I would not recommend this room or hell hole to anyone. The toilet had tissue in when we arrived, each time we used it we had to flush at least 3 times. It also made an horrific noise all night. Got back from a family BBQ after midnight and wanted a shower but there was no hot water. Tried again in the morning at 10:30 so I would feel fresh for the journey home but still no hot water. Thought it may just be the shower but the sink was the same. The sink blocked up as well. The shower cubicle was detached and falling apart which was dangerous. There was mould everywhere. The window in the room is huge with no safety catch on it and very dangerous, even an adult could quite easily fall through it. When handing our key in the owner was to put it bluntly very unhelpful. I explained about the toilet keeping us awake and his reply was why didn't you complain last night? Well I wasn't going to search for him at 3am. When challenged about the hot water he said it's no good me checking now as it's on a timer. ( nowhere is it advertised that hot water is only available between certain hours ) When we asked about a partial refund his attitude got quite aggressive and he said, With all due respect I think that £45 is already cheap enough.
This was an awful experience and I will be getting on to trading standards on Monday as I believe the room was not fit for purpose and is in a dangerous condition. Hopefully then the owner will realise that just because the rooms are £45 they still have to meet a certain standard.

We were looking for an overnight stop on a long journey and this fitted the bill, being 5 minutes away from the M6. Ignore the unfavourable reviews from 2012 and before - the new owners are turning the place around and could not have been more helpful. Dog friendly too! Breakfast was excellent (not included in room price, but good value).

Me, my wife and 2 grown-up 'children' spent a very comfortable night in the spacious family room on the top floor, finished off with a delicious cooked breakfast in the pleasantly traditional bar/pub the following morning. Not soulless like 'modern' budget hotels, this really has atmosphere and has been decorated to a very high standard. The pub also serves meals throughout the day.

Room Tip: Didn't see a lift, so make sure you're able-bodied if taking a top-floor room.

This is an old-style, character-filled hotel across the road from the railway station.

We stayed in a family room (as 3 adults) during a touring trip - a very warm & friendly welcome from staff, the room was comfortable and clean, the food is very good value. They open for breakfast downstairs - low prices, high quality and a perfect start to the day!

If you are driving - there is on-street parking available restriction-free on the station side.

I have just stayed 2 nights at this wonderful hotel very reasonable and a great atmosphere. Local gigs on a Saturday night in the bar of the hotel . The owners a lovely people who cannot do enough for you . I would highly recommend this hotel . Both couples families and even dogs allowed here.

Room Tip: We had the family room just for the 2 of us very big and spacious

Stayed for one night for my scuba at Capernway. Very handy place to stay. Room was very clean and warm. We had to open the window to cool down. Very friendly hospitality from walking in the door. Beautiful breakfast a good start to the day.
We are already booked for another stay for another day at Capernwray.
