Great relaxing break away. All you need to take is your swim wear!!! Everything is provided for you. Beautiful scenery and loved waking up to the sound of the birds singing.

“Lovely Getaway”
Reviewed 26 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

What a beautiful place and so relaxing. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the minute we arrived with a letter and bottle of bubbly. The lodge itself is beautiful with a relaxing feel inside and out. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Phil and Sue who were really nice and incredibly helpful. I can't wait to go back in October for another weekend.

“What a retreat”
Reviewed 9 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Peaceful away from it all location, newly built luxury lodges. Our one bedroom lodge had a beautiful bathroom with large shower and stand alone bath. The kitchen had all the facilities you could wish for and furnishings were of a high standard. Very large outdoor terrace with table/chairs, sunloungers, and soft seating and the ultimate luxury of your very own hot tub. Plenty of pubs in the area if you don't fancy cooking and lots to see and do in Shropshire and the surrounding areas. To achieve sheer perfection for me would just need to add some blackout blinds/curtains in the bedroom for those light summer mornings and a barbeque to fully enjoy the terrace as we watched with envy the neighbouring lodge enjoying theirs!! Would return without hesitation and are already looking at dates for next year.

“Excellent all round”
Reviewed 8 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

My husband and I had a little get away for our 3rd wedding anniversary. We had the most amazing time, away from the world and didn't leave the lodge for a whole 2 days! The lodge was immaculate, and absolutely stunning. Phil and Sue's attention to detail is spot on, we needed for nothing. The hot tub was an obvious bonus we loved spending our evenings in there with our complimentary bottle of prosecco taking in the peacefulness and watching shooting stars. It really was the most perfect get away and we can't thank Phil and Sue enough for making it that way for us.

Management Response
11 Aug 2017
We are bitterly disappointed that you did not fully enjoy your stay at Ash lodge and all the facilities it offers. We strive to ensure that all our guests have the best time possible and to provide the highest standards. Phil informed you on the afternoon of your arrival that the fridge was not cooling to an adequate temperature and that an engineer was due to rectify the problem at the earliest opportunity on Monday morning. We had provided a large cool box and bag and several ice packs and explained that the freezer was working perfectly. We took these measures to ensure that at least perishable food could be kept chilled and if appropriate food could be frozen. We did not anticipate a problem such as this given that it was a brand new appliance but felt that at least we had made provision for the short period before the engineer was due. We certainly did not ask or expect you to wait in for an engineer to call and arrangements were made between ourselves and the manufacturer directly. Following his visit we too we assured that the problem had been rectified. As soon as you informed us the following day that the fridge was not working correctly we immediately contacted the manufacturer again and at our insistence arranged a further visit for the following day. He arrived while you were out and decided that the appliance should be replaced. I sincerely apologise that we did not let you know of this decision at the time; it was a genuine oversight by us. It is a shame that you had not told us of the difficulties you were encountering at the time as we would have taken further action. We certainly did not want you to be wasting food and going to the expense of eating out if you didn’t want to. It is of no comfort to yourselves but the manufacturer subsequently agreed to replace the appliance which has since been installed.

With regard to the bathroom smell Phil came as soon as he could to investigate the smell which after later contact thought had been rectified. If he had been made aware that the problem had reoccurred he would have taken further action. Since your visit this intermittent problem has returned, which is not acceptable, and as I write this response an engineer is on site to follow this matter up.

May I once again underline how sorry we are that you holiday was less than perfect. I do hope you appreciate that we did all we could given that certain factors were out of our control and we were not aware of all the problems you were encountering.

“And relax....”
Reviewed 14 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We loved our stay here, the lodge is so light, spacious and modern. Phil and Sue have put a lot of thought into making it a perfect retreat. So nice to deal with them, very helpful, easy to book directly with them and nothing too much trouble.
When we arrived we did see a little bit of building work going on and thought oh no! Hope that doesn't disturb us! It certainly didn't, it is so peaceful you cannot do anything but relax! I am sure that the work will be completed very soon as it is an exclusive development of only 10 lodges and most are finished now anyway.
Love everything about the lodge, such a pleasant space to spend time. Lovely to watch the birds on the feeder in the morning when you wake. Love love love the hot tub!
We really didn't want to leave! So looking forward to visiting again.

“Hidden gem ! Superb lodge with all you need, and more, for a rural getaway.”
Reviewed 30 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Ash Lodge is located nearby Bridgnorth Shropshire in a gorgeous rural setting. It is a wonderful open and airy lodge with a beautiful contemparary touch. The outside hot tub is a great and relaxing bonus after a day hiking in the countryside. You can start walks directly from your doorstep. Also in close vicinity are nice market towns like Ludlow, Bewdly and Shrewsbury. Don't forget to visit historic Iron Bridge. Furthermore you can visit a range of beautiful National Trust properties in the area. All sights and activities can be reached in about a 30-40 minute drive from the lodge. Or just stay in the hot tub and enjoy the luxury of the lodge itself and do some bird watching. Ash Lodge is out in the open and still close to whatever one likes to do. We had a great time when staying there.
