“Useful lil train!”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

This is a very handy little train considering how steep the hill to and from high town is especially if you suffer joint problems like I do. Buying a bulk set of tickets for cheaper too also comes in handy and they don't expire either.

“Cliff railway”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Excellent way of getting from Low Town to high Town without climbing many steps, unique method of transport with views of the local area from a very good vantage point. Only takes a couple of minutes and very little waiting.

“Engineering history”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

As locals we seldom use the railway but with family visiting and being pregnant it was ideal to get from low to high town .
At £1.20 return it saves the legs of the weary old or infirm the views are superb from the top when you walk the castle walk and with many cafés pubs and restauraunts within a five minute walk of the top station you can't go wrong.
With the railway being well over a hundred years old and still carrying passengers it just shows how great British engineering is.
