My mum and I stayed at Waterhouse for one night during our 'Best of British' road trip (she was visiting from Australia). It was the penultimate night of our 11 nights on the road and, whilst we had been very fortunate with all of our accommodation on the previous evenings, this one absolutely took the cake, providing a 5 star experience in every aspect.
We were greeted by the lovely Paul, who gave us a warm welcome, helped us with our bags from the car up to our room and then, once we were settled in, showed us to the library where we settled in with a couple of glasses of wine and relaxed on the comfortable sofas. There currently is no dining service of an evening, however, as we had had a fairly late lunch in Bath, we were not particularly hungry anyway. Paul did suggest, in case we changed our mind, a number of quality places to eat which were either within walking distance, or a very short drive from Waterhouse. Mum and I were quite content however, to relax in the Library with our wine and, with our second glass, we were treated with some amazing brownies which had personally been made by Paul. A really lovely touch!
The room was outstanding....beautiful quality furnishings in French Provincial / Shabby Chic styling, enormous built in wardrobes, well appointed, lovely soft lighting, perfect sized bathroom with separate bath and beautiful views overlooking the valley from the large windows in the room. It even had a gorgeous dressing table in it's own little alcove of the room and, to top it all off, the towels were complete with a chocolate on top. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were like resting my head on clouds. My only wish was that the entire room could be transported back to my house and I could live in it everyday!
Breakfast the next morning was no exception to the five star experience. A brilliant full English breakfast (the posh version, not the greasy spoon version) followed an array of cereals, fruit, juice and pastries which were laid out for us, and accompanied with nice strong, hot coffee. That set us up brilliantly before hitting the road again.
The only negative to this place is that we didn't get to stay for longer. I am already planning to return in the near future with a few friends for a girly spa weekend away....I can't wait! Would highly recommend this quality establishment to anyone.
Thank you to everyone at Waterhouse for a brilliant stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 9....it was gorgeous...beautiful big room, lovely view of the valley and a fabulous dressing table in it's own little area. On another note, we did have a little trouble finding the place initially as my GPS did not seem to want to direct me there. Thankfully, this problem had been pre-empted by the staff at Waterhouse, who had sent an email though to me saying that, should there be any problem to phone for directions. We did just that and found the place without hassle. My suggestion would be to ditch the GPS altogether and just call for directions in the first instance (rookie mistake on my behalf!).

We wanted a quiet, clean and comfortable base for a few days shopping in Bath. It exceeded our expectations for a, strictly speaking, B & B. Relaxed welcome, super room with stunning views, terrific bed linen (I am fussy) and wonderful breakfast. The Park and Ride was a short drive away and a 'gastro' pub nearby - really want we wanted and needed and the other visitors felt as positive as we did.

We arrived in the dark & it was raining so we weren't in the best of moods. Ed showed us to our room & was really welcoming & informative. The room was very comfortable with crisp white cotton bed linen and big inviting pillows! The quality of the furnishings was high & it ensured a good nights sleep. On our bed was a card congratulating us on our wedding anniversary which I thought was a nice touch. That night we took a taxi in to Bath which cost £11 each way so quite reasonable. Morning came & the sun was shining which helped us see Waterhouse in all it's Winter glory. A truly impressive country house with gorgeous countryside surrounding it. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice on the menu. Quality of ingredients used was high. All of the staff were very friendly & really appeared interested in our stay & the reasons for visiting that part of the country. Definitely worth a return visit.

I've stayed here for business meetings a few times now and every time I've been impressed with the high standard of facilities, the bedrooms are very luxurious (beds very comfy), and the grounds stunning.... It's proper Bath Georgian grandure - fully recommend, for work or pleasure :-)

Beautiful location just outside Bath with ample parking and only a short taxi ride into the City.
Small and friendly hotel with small but well appointed rooms.
Relaxed atmosphere in sympathetically modernised setting. Delicious breakfast. We will use again.
