“Beautiful house, exceptional service, a delight”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

We arrived early and the house was locked up, within a few minutes a young lady arrived to let us in an show us around, it was breathtakingly beautiful and homely with touches of art on view, a baby grand piano in the hall way. We were shown to our room the White room which was spacious and has a wet room ensuite, we were offered tea or coffee in the snug, which has a real fire crackling away, just heavenly. A young man was began playing the baby grand with accomplished skill, it was like being in a romantic movie! Tea was served on a tray with biscuits complimentary.
We were informed when we made the booking that they do not provide dinner but recommended the pub up the road, the wheelwright ? The food there is excellent and they have own awards for their restaurant. The breakfast room has many windows and again has a real fire crackling away, with a wide choice and made to order hot breakfast, this place is just fantastic,

Room Tip: The White room has a four poster bed and roomy wet room.

My husband booked this on Booking.com as a late booking to celebrate his birthday weekend. The reviews sounded ideal, inglenook fireplace to have a cup of tea beside, lovely location, en suite etc. Imagine our surprise when we were shown to our room to find the shower was IN THE ROOM with a screen to place around it. it wasn't even in a bathroom! My husband had to clean the loo before he used it as the previous occupants and 'splattered' the toilet bowl and it hadn't been cleaned after! The base of the fridge was filthy.
We were kindly offered a cup of tea which we said we would come down and have in the room with the inglenook fire. However this had not been emptied from the last time it had been used and instead was replaced by a portable gas fire. It was freezing in here and not the atmosphere we had been promised in the reviews. Our sink backed up and there was no hot water to wash our hands. My husband enlikened the whole situation to Faulty Towers.
On the positive side the 2 people running it for the absent owners were lovely, the bed was comfy and breakfast was good but in general this is a VERY pricey bed and breakfast and certainly not worth the money. The owners could do with spending some of the money they take to upgrade the property especially the electrics and plumbing and perhaps pay for a gardener to make the view from the breakfast room a more pleasant one oh and maybe even put a proper bathroom in the room!

Room Tip: The Willow Room does not have a proper en suite

A great place to relax, or a base to see Bath. Martha was a fantastic host, recommending places to eat, walks to take etc. Our room was great, cosy but with plenty of space. The breakfasts were fantastic and meant we could barely eat for the rest of the day! A great stay, I'd recommend to anyone.

Rented the Manor House with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. Not only is it really cosy with log fires and comfy sofas, it has a well stocked kitchen that allows you to cook a feast and eat it in the big dining room. The owner, Beth, is also super helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay.

This gorgeous B&B is hidden away round a corner, but captures you from first sight. Nestled behind a stone wall and almost hidden behind an enormous willow tree, it has so much character and charm. The owners are warm and friendly, born greeted us by name at the door and made us a very welcome cup of tea which we drank in the gorgeous English garden. He even provided apple juice for the kids. He even sat down with us for a chat.
The decor was divine. The rooms were large and comfortable, with extra little touches like shower gel and hand lotion in large containers in the bathroom.
Norm drove my husband up to the local fish and chip shop to get dinner and set us up with plates and cutlery in the breakfast room.
Breakfast was delicious and made to order.
Wish we could have stayed more than one night. We didn't want to leave

We have just returned from a two night stay while we were attending a friends's wedding. On arrival the building is covered by willow trees which is picturesque. Norman greeted us and took our luggage in and offered us a drink immediately, which we enjoyed in the beautiful garden with Norman. This fantastic hosting was to continue throughout our stay, from both Beth and Norman.
The breakfast was beautifully cooked and a large portion, unfortunately I could not finish it due to the size which was a shame because it was so tasty. Our bedroom was lovely, we had the small room but it was cozy and served a purpose for staying.
We could not have been made to feel any more welcome and relaxed as Norman and Beth had made us. They booked us a table at the Wheelwright arms for the Friday night and booked our taxi for wedding we were attending.
Absolutely fantastic stay just wish we had been staying longer, I highly recommend staying.
