I had to make a last minute trip to Scotland for unfortunate family matters. I booked into the Kingswood with only a few days to spare. Both Kathryn and Rankin Bell were more than helpful and gracious. They made sure I was staying in my home away from home. The bed was clean, the room was spacious and comfortable, the overall hotel atmosphere was cozy and endearing. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or a kinder reception during my four days at the Kingswood. I highly recommend it for an overnight or a fortnight stay. And whatever you do, make sure to have an evening meal in the dining room. Each dinner was delicious and left me well passed stuffed by the end. Truly a gem of a place in Burntisland. I can't wait to go back for a visit.

We had been I Scotland for a week, exploring and researching ancestors, when we checked in to Kingswood. It was exactly what we were hoping for; a spacious set of rooms, quiet location, beautiful view, but primarily a very caring and professional ownership. They were helpful in unexpected ways, including chasing down wifi problems and recommending the library as a source for our research. The food was excellent and the price was right. What more could one ask?

The hotel was easy to find and has a lot of parking space. The room we had was very spacious, 2 separate bedrooms (for 3 people) and a bathroom. After some help from the landlord we got the shower working which was ok. The food in the restaurant is good although not a lot of choice available. All in all very good!

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review, your comments are much appreciated. Whilst our menus are perhaps not hugely extensive please bear in mind that the menus change regularly and we use fresh meat, poultry and fish as well as making our owns soups sauces desserts etc and can therefor offer a better quality than frozen foods

We stumbled across this hotel while out for a drive and stayed for the carvery lunch. The service was friendly and quick and the setting was lovely. The food on the whole was good. There was a choice of four meats with roast and potatoes, stuffing, onions, yorkshire puddings and veg. The meat was good and sliced there and then. The yorkshires were a bit overdone and the veg a bit bland. The starters and deserts were lovely. We would come here again.

Thank you for your comments, our Carvery runs from 12.00 noon until 8.45 pm and is also one of the choices for High Tea from 3.00 pm-6.45, we also offer a cake buffet with High Tea which is very popular as our cakes are all home made

We booked last minuet as we were visiting Edinburgh Zoo (about half hour away) n trivago said this one was close. Wasn't really sure what to expect and wasn't really looking for anything special but we were presently suprised ! Lovely location , room with sea view was beautiful, dinner was lovely and really good value for money. 3 courses for both of us and 4 drinks for £45. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Only comment would be on the website it didn't tell u about the train line but tbh i didn't hear anything past 10pm.

Would defo recommend and consider visiting again in future.

Sea view is a must!

Thank you for your review, although we are on the north side of the river, outwith rush hou,r the drive into Edinburgh is surprisingly short probably around forty five minutes to get parked in a multi story in the centre.Delighted that you were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, our views are outstanding and as you say there are very few trains after 10pm

We do hope that you will visit us again

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was "home-cooked", tasty, varied and good value. Quiet location but convenient for our needs: would also be reasonable location for visits to Edinburgh, only a short hop across either railway or (less attractively) road bridge. It's not a long walk to Burntisland station, with lots of trains to Edinburgh.

Room Tip: We had a room on the back: no view of the Firth of Forth but very quiet.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review, whilst the rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter they are not as bright and don't benefit from our beautiful views, hopefully you managed to get a table by the window in our restaurant. The walk to Burntisland Station takes about 20/25 minutes although parking there is free, the train journey to Edinburgh takes 40-50 minutes, the trains are generally on time, are very clean and it is scenic journey
