we arrived at. 9pm on a Sat night to be gratefully told they had 'room at the inn ' for 2 families of 4.....we were delighted! rooms very clean and adequate. Lively evening in Bar with friendly locals and fun bar maid who made time for us whilst she was busy! breakfast just fine...would recommend and would stay again if passing Dingwall.

We were not expecting much from this hotel, but we were very pleasantly surprised. It needs a bit of TLC, but the new owners who have been in for a couple of months are very pleasant and chatty. The food is exceptional and most of the meat is provided by the new owners farm which is just down the road. All the food was well cooked and well presented. The food was hot and filling.Very friendly staff and the most comfortable bed and pillow we had had on a the whole tour of 4 hotels. Well situated for the town and a short walk to the station. It is an old building, but with a bit of love it will be a great place.
Would recommend it to anyone and would return.

Room Tip: No lift for disabled people but some rooms available on ground floor.

Management dont really have much of a clue about running a hotel going by what i encounterd on my stay. Staff were friendly although i got the impression they didn't want to be there. Major work is required to bring this hotel back to its former glory.

On arrival we had to press the Reception Bell three times. After a long wait we noticed the Janitor's Bell on the Desk and let rip. A foreign looking lady appeared who clearly had limited comprehension of English or the whereabouts of our room.
The hall carpet was recent, and there the good news finished. A drab basic room awaited. The toilet lacked shampoo and bath gel, but two white towels (each) and a small soap bar were provided. Beds were small. TV didn't work , the clothes hangers in the wardrobe were gleaned from near and far. Breakfast was basic, the toast machine required the bread to be inserted 6 times before it was warm, let alone toasted. Service was inept. Overall a Hotel to be avoided until it has a major re organisation and significant investment.

Stayed here as last resort. First impressions are this was a grand hotel in its day! The reception area is very run down with a random leather sofa abandoned! The reception is not inviting with holes in the plasterboard & dead flowers in reception! After a short wait we were checked in by a scruffy gentleman, who then gave us the keys & pointed us upstairs! The room however was well presented & the bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished. Breakfast was a complete disaster - we were greeted by the scruffy receptionist who asked us what we wanted for breakfast (this was before showing us into the dining room or showing us a menu). She then proceeded to tell us she was 'knackered' because she had only had 3 hours sleep & was just about sleeping at reception! We then couldn't pay by credit card when we checked out because the machine was broken - we were told it had been broken for ages!! We believe the hotel was recently taken over by new management - all I can say is I hope they have lots of cash because the place needs a massive cash injection to get it half decent! Won't be staying again!

Many thanks to Andrea, William and Staff for looking after us so well during our stay celebrating my sister's 40th birthday party on Saturday. The bar/serving staff in particular were very tolerant when lots of noisy relatives who hadn't met up in years arrived en masse and laughed/shouted/generally had fun over lunch/coffees/drinks before the party had even started, and didn't mind bringing extra coffees and drinks as more people arrived. It is obvious you are trying hard to improve the hotel's reputation and there are some areas which could be improved but with warm and clean rooms, hot and tasty breakfast and pleasant, helpful staff you are on the right road. We appreciated all the hard work put in to help us and hope we didn't give you too much trouble ! Thanks again.
