Really great place to stay, unique and charming. The host's were also great, very warm and funny.
We planned a stag party with lots of excursions and Richard and Patricia went beyond the call of duty to help us with our arrangements and made sure we had the best possible time. There were lots of games and activities to keep us occupied, plenty to drink; Richard organised and tapped us a keg of local beer. It was a really perfect experience.

I will definitely consider returning in the future with some friends.

Thanks for that review. We are always very pleased when we hear that people have had a good time. Everyone usually leaves smiling but it is so kind to make the effort to tell us this way. I suppose that I should point out that we are not licensed and have nothing to do with the beer ourselves! We just put you in touch with the brewery and get a hefty discount! It is great that they do that and most groups who can, do buy it in! It makes for a great atmosphere.
Thanks again and I do hope that we shall see you again.

I have nothing but stellar things to write about the stay we had at Abernethy Bunkhouse last weekend.

I was charged with the responsibility of finding a suitable location for 26 gentleman earlier in the year, of course for a stag weekend, which always poses a few challenges from the outset. On hearing from Patricia very quickly after making the initial enquiry it was obvious who we were going to be settling down with during the weekend.

I was given nothing but reassurances during the organisation of the weekend that the Bunkhouse would accommodate everyone and all of our requests...and boy how it delivered!

From the organisation of the beer and tesco delivery, to the quirky way they fit guests into every nook and crannie available, to the fantastic arena outside that allowed the guys to play table tennis, cook BBQs and just generally enjoy themselves.

It's in a cracking location close to some of the best outdoors you can get, as well as the local town of Aviemore as well - which offered us a night out or two as well.

Richard and Patricia advised on getting a banquet from the local Indian establishment when we were unable to get booked in for a meal elsewhere. Not only was the food excellent, but the gents from the Indian themselves were very kind and didn't hold back on the extras.

Lastly, Richard made the weekend so enjoyable for us all in the group. His company was most welcome during the weekend, and his generosity shown through all the time...as did his humour!

I would recommend the Bunkhouse to any large group that needs a good place to sleep and all the facilities to have a good time as well. It's a gem of a place and I look forward to bringing the kids here years down the line.

Thank you Richard & Patricia.

Owen, Best Man.

Wow! Thanks Owen for taking the time to write a review.
You will have so much to do as Best Man and so we appreciate this.
I know that Richard enjoyed your company and I, Patricia, enjoyed the ease with which you dealt with everything.
You are welcome back!

What a magnificent place! Right on the Speyside way, which was perfect for our purposes. We could not have felt more welcome and Richard even helped us source beer when we temporarily ran dry. Kitchen was great and we ordered in a keg of beer to be delivered which worked perfectly. The only grumble across the whole stay was the plastic covered duvet/pillows were a bit sweaty. We ate at both the golf club and ordered in food from the curry house, both were excellent and the local hotel bar was also great. Darts and ping pong were also a highlight.

If you are travelling in a big group and need to be in a hostel style accommodation then this is a perfect setup.

Hi pglithro
Thank you so very much for taking the time to leave a review. They are always helpful to others looking to come to stay.
We do know that the mattresses, duvets and pillows are not the most comfortable but we are often surprised that some people do not bother to make up their beds and so these have proved a valuable aid in our fight to remain hygienic! We always suggest that sleeping bags are best whenever possible for that reason.
I am glad that the Golf Club and curry meals were well received. The cheaper beer is always popular!
Haste ye back!

For apparently the 10th year running (!) we stayed at Nethy Bridge over New years, and it was fantastic as ever. The hut is full of character and Richard did all he could to make the week as entertaining and fun as usual. Great accommodation, with room for 26 people and a good kitchen and dining area. Would highly recommend!

Providing accommodation is a two-way thing and we are very lucky to have such a fun and faithful group. When a business is appreciated it does make you want to go the extra mile. Thanks for the review - we shall look forward to next year!

We had a group of 12 adults visiting the Aviemore region for a stag weekend/bachelor party and we made a great decision to go with the Bunkhouse. Nethy Bridge is a nice quiet town, but handy for Aviemore. We pre-booked our travel with a local taxi/bus hire guy who picked us up and dropped us off in Aviemore over the course of the weekend.

The bunkhouse was comfortable for 12, though there is space for a few more. They have warm showers and wifi and cooking facilities to keep you going - and a very warm welcome from the gracious hosts. Would recommend for anyone considering a large group trip to the area.

Thanks very much Andrew for taking the time to leave a review. I know that Richard enjoyed your company and I am glad that our 'tame taxi' did well getting you about.
I understand that you had a good time at La Taverna in Aviemore which does a Stag friendly buffet! I do hope that we shall see some of you back again - maybe an Anniversary reunion!
