Finca Adalgisa Wine Hotel, Vineyard & Winery
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 25 February 2014

Staying here for three days was a delight. The setting, grounds, building and contents are very attractive and the staff/management are exceptionally friendly and helpful. This vineyard hotel is special.
Each evening the inclusive glass of their wine and tapas was a real joy, leading into company with other guests over another glass or two.
Participating in the asado, the Argentinean barbecue, with their wine flowing was very enjoyable. Take a place for $70 is highly recommended, if available.

Beautiful hotel within a small vineyard, wonderful breakfast options, relaxing pool, tapas with house wine every night...truly perfect except for the dogs! There are stray dogs all over town and the neighbors also have dogs that bark all night long and half the day. I was happy not to be in the front building so we were spared the traffic noise that other guests complained about. It's really a shame that the dogs affected what could have been an idyllic stay. Interesting everything in the hotel store is priced in US dollars.

The Finca is located on a sometimes busy road so we would recommend rooms in the quieter new block as opposed to the original house.

It should be noted that this is a boutique hotel set in a few hectares of land with vines, olive and fruit trees. It could not fairly be described as a working vineyard and no tours of the winery were offered.

That said it is a delightful place to stay: very welcoming and well run.

Our very comfortable suite in the new block was on two floors and had a lovely mountain view from the light and airy bedroom (which was in contrast to the sitting area downstairs which was rather gloomy). The bedroom had both air-conditioning and a whisper quiet fan which contributed to a very good night's sleep.

The included evening glass of wine and tapas was a nice touch. However, we thought that the "extras" offered through the Finca were expensive.

Breakfast was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the good coffee, breads and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Wifi was very patchy in the room but fine in the main building.

We were surprised to find that the Finca is located in a built up area, essentially a suburb of Mendoza. Whilst we slept very well on our first night (a Thursday), our sleep was badly disturbed on the Friday by people going to or from a nearby disco which seemingly set all the dogs of the neighbourhood off barking.

The following morning we had an early departure and found the breakfast provided to be inadequate. All we needed and had requested was some (stale if necessary) bread and jam and coffee. We made it clear that we do not eat milk or yoghurt so were surprised to find a tray delivered to our room with just cereal, milk, a few pieces of fruit and a flask of coffee that was cold by the morning. For a hotel which is otherwise so well run it is mystifying that an early departure should prove so problematic.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the new block and avoid Friday nights.

This boutique hotel with only 10 rooms or so is a delight.

It consists of a main building with three bedrooms and an outbuilding for the rest. We stayed in the main building where the room was well furnished and spacious. The grounds include a swimming pool, and, most important of all, a working 2 hectare vineyard which produces about 5000+ bottles a year.

Walking around the vineyard and watching the staff manipulate the rationed water supply for the vines is really interesting.

Every evening guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of the local wines and some really tasty nibbles served in the winery building. You can also eat something more substantial if you are hungry.

There is a library area which includes the communal TV, and WIFI is available in the common areas, but not in the rooms.

The staff speak excellent English and are very helpful.

It's about a 15 min taxi ride to the centre of Mendoza although you really don't need to go there. Most of the guests, including us, go on winery tours with a lunch as part of the package so looking for local restaurants isn't really necessary. However, if you want a snack, then It's only a 10 minute walk to the local town centre.

We had a very enjoyable 4 nights here.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the main building where the rooms are bigger

A stunning small hotel & winery in the beautiful village of Chacras de Coria in the Lujan de Cujo premier wine region of Mendoza. Lovely rustic rooms with an absolutely stunning setting amongst the vines with views of the snow capped Andes. The good sized pool area is lovely and the nightly tapas and wine served in the wonderful open bodega chatting to other guests was a highlight of the day. Many of the best Lujan region wineries are close by and the village is only a short walk away with plenty of good restaurant choices. The staff were ready to help with any request or advice especially Melissa who made our trip extra special by booking wine tours & car rentals in advance and making great suggestions and restaurant reservations during our stay. Gabriella, the owner, made sure that there was other choices for my wife besides red meat when they held a special Asado (BBQ) in the Bodega one night. This night, dining under the stars and vines with 6 other guests, was one of the highlights of our whole trip to South America.

This is an oasis. The room we had for 2 nights was lovely (no.24) and buildings wrap around a vineyard - so peaceful at night. What was truly exceptional was the staff. We arrived underprepared but Melissa organized a rental car, wine tours & then tours for the Uco Valley even though we wouldn't be staying with them.

We had a great time at this little boutique hotel in the Chacras de Coria region south of the city of Mendoza. At just 11 rooms, it was perfect to not only have this as our home base for all the wonderful Botegas in the Lujan de Cujo rejoin, but felt felt like a destination spot in and of itself. The hotel is situated within a Botega, so you are surrounded by a two acre vineyard - from which we were served excellent wine made from. There are more photo ops within the hotel property than you can imagine. The rooms are great- clean and large. We were in the original 100 year old farm house, but there is a newer building housing six rooms. I would stay in our room again. Every evening from 6-11pm at the resident winery on property they serve gratis wine (made from any of the several Botegas that the owner also owns) and tapas. They also serve soups and salads. Two of the four nights we were there we didn't even go out for dinner, we just made our meal here. They also have cooking classes. Breakfasts were included and also excellent. The staff was friendly and very helpful with reservations, etc. The hotel also has a very nice pool that we used everyday

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the old farmhouse
