“Rude and Unfriendly”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Upon recommendation, my girlfriends and I booked at this restaurant for lunch. Before we made our booking, we had looked at the internet for the menu and discovered that the duck a l'orange was not on their lunch menu. My friend subsequently called them and was told that although it was not on their lunch menu, it could be arranged when we came. When we arrived at the restaurant and were shown the menu, we told the man (whom we think could be the proprietor) that we had phoned beforehand about the duck. He said he had no knowledge of our phone call ("whom did you speak to?" was his response). When we told him we had come specifically for the duck and would probably not come if we knew we could not have it at lunch time, his reply, "It is up to you". We then walked off as we found his attitude totally unacceptable. He was unfriendly and rude. I have never encountered such rudeness coming from a restauranteur ( I have been to many restaurants in numerous countries in England (where I used to live), Europe and Asia) and it was regrettable that it had changed our opinion about how good the restaurant was. My friends and I are also determined that we would never go back there again. We would also tell our friends about our experience with the restaurant.

“Mouthwatering”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

I go to this restaurant with friends regularly, probably on average once a fortnight because the food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant.

The New Years Eve menu WAS to die for. Absolutely sensational. A great night out if you want the yummiest of food, a beautiful ambience and not over crowded. Thank you again Klaus and Michele for yet another super night.

People if you have not been here put it down as a NYE resolution to attend. They also have great lunch time specials.

Bon Appetite

“Consistently good”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

This is a great restaurant that we keep for special occasions - excellent food, conviviality, buzz. The food was spot on, the servings are generous (I could have done with two entree sizes rather than an entree and a main - certainly could not fit a dessert!), the service was engaging, friendly and prompt, in spite of the fact the restaurant was fully booked. We had pork belly, snails, sirloin, slow cooked ox cheeks - cooked to perfection. We'll be back, absolutely!

“French food the way you remember”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

Frenchy's shows that traditional food can still be cutting edge. While the menu includes some more modern dishes they produce wonderful versions of classics such as French onion soup, duck a l'orange, and seafood bisque. The two proprietors have been there for more than a decade and the service is crisp and professional. Their charcuterie entrée is a work of art.
The wine list is comprehensive and desserts include more classics such as crème brulee. There is plenty of parking in the car park of the adjacent 'The Glen' shopping centre. Negatives ? They charge extra for bread and butter - an irritating fault. Otherwise outstanding.

“treat yourself to a great dinner”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

We had a great night, really nice atmosphere, there is a huge table in one part of the restaurant which would be great for a big family gathering. The food was great, we had the french onion soup, chicken, duck, choc souffle and creme brulee. The servings are over generous, I would have been happy with a smaller portion. We will be returning again.
