“Trip of a Life Time”

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night in our campervan on site 23. The views were absolutely amazing! The staff were very friendly and explained where everything was. The new Unisex toilets/bathrooms were fantastic and very clean. I was so thrilled with the camp ground we are going to stay there again in 2 weeks.

Room Tip: Site 24 and 23 Have great view with an access way to the lake. Also has a public toliet a few metres...

We have stayed here twice now in a powered site. Once in April, and now in October. The newer shared toilets/showers are really nice and were close to where we stayed.
We loved the bath in April in the womens toilet/shower for our preschoolers. I hope this kind of facility stays when they upgrade this block.
Nice and close to Tekapo Springs and just a short walk to the lake.
Great views of the lake from most of the campground, but be aware that some sites to the side have trees in the way so you won't see the lake.
Pricey for preschoolers ($10 each) which was a bit disappointing but otherwise great.

Room Tip: If you are getting a powered site, make sure you book early, or in off-season, check in early and tr...

Hi There

Thanks for your comments and sorry for a delayed response. Your feedback on the improvements myself and Gavin have been making are much appreciated. Now the peak season is coming to an end, we will start focusing on the second toilet block and will definitely take your idea to keep the baby bath into consideration. We've also been doing some tree trimming recently and we hope that this improves the views from the other sites!

Thanks for your review and once again, sorry for the delayed reply.

This was by far the worst motel we have ever stayed In, and at $140 per night it was well overpriced for what was supplied. There were no bed lights so if you got up in the night you had to stumble your way to find the light switch at the door - very dangerous when you're not familiar with the place. There was no hair dryer supplied and we were informed, when we checked out, if we'd asked for one it would have been available. The mat inside the door was particularly grubby with dirty blotches on it. It looked as if no one had ever tried to clean it. It would also be nice if the owners could consider laying gravel, or tar sealing the area outside the motels, to cut down the dust generated by passing traffic.

Hi there
Thank you for your review and sorry about the delayed response (We've had a very busy peak season!). Sorry to hear that you found our accommodation not up to scratch. Since your stay, myself and Gavin have been working hard to improve the motel units and as this is an ongoing priority of ours, we will take some of your suggestions on board.

Maybe you will pop back sometime and note the improvements.

Thanks and once again, sorry for the delayed response.

We got a cabin which facing directly to Lake Tekapo. I saw long white cloud on the lake at the moment I opened eyes and sit up from the bed, this could be once in a lifetime experience!

Large room, large toilet, comes with kitchen with sufficient utensil to cook dinner.
Overall excellent experience. The view really make a different!

Room Tip: Get a cabin facing directly to Lake Tekapo, you see fantastic scenery in the next morning when you w...

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to view our property.
We have taken on board your comments regarding our motel units and after we have completed the refurbisment of our kiwi bach's we are moving up to the motels to paint, refurnish and yes we will add some bedside lamps.
As new managers we have a plan in place to have the motels and kiwi bach's and all the landscaping in this part of the camp completed by Christmas. If you pass this way again please pop in and and note the changes.
I hope you enjoyed the view and all the other attractions that Lake Tekapo has to offer.
Thanks again

cheers

The views were very good and it reminded me of a lake I stay by in the USA. I was really disappointed with the Accommodation. Could not get the door to unlock and every little noise seem to travel though the walls. It would have been better if the walls were not there. The place was not clean but not dirty and a coat of paint would not go a miss. I did not think I got value for money when I stay there and would I stay there again and the answer is no. Even if I had to pay a bit more more money I would stay some where else

Good afternoon.
Thank you for your comments on our holiday park.
We do have a fantastic view and you certainly dont get tired of looking at it everyday
As new managers we have schedule of work ahead of us and I figure from you comment on the noise that you were in a motel unit.
These are our next units that we are working through with painting etc so if you ever pass this way again I hope you notice the difference.
Enjoy the rest of your travels

cheers

Most amazing views I've ever seen from a caravan park. We used the unisex amenities and they appear to be brand new. Very clean but showers cost $2 for 10 mins - although they are very good showers and the bathroom was heated. Didn't like how the lights turn out after a certain period of time, specially when I was in there by myself. The office staff were very helpful and the two kids playgrounds were a hit with our 3 year old. The lake tepako springs were a lot of hype about not much in my opinion. Seemed to be heated pools and the man made snow was really dirty. I had an hour massage at the day spa which was nice but the reception staff weren't very friendly. Holiday park is great and I would recommend it to anyone.

Hi there
Its sounds like you guys had an awesome time here in Tekapo doing everything Lake Tekapo has to offer.
They are great playgrounds, basic but the kids love them. Happy kids, happy parents :-)
I hope we have rectified the problem with the lights turning off. We have had the electrician in to sort this.

Thank you again for your review and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

cheers

This is the second time we have stayed at Lake Tekapo Holiday Park. The views of the lake are second to none, the staff are friendly. There is only one holiday park in Tekapo, therefore you have to pay the high tariffs. Showers are $2 for 10 minutes and the lights go out while you are still showering, which scared my toddler. The facilities are tired and are in need of refurbishment or at the very least scrubbed thoroughly as the walls in the female toilets had mold on them.

Thanks for your comments and we have now sorted the light problem in the shower blocks, it would be a bit freaky being in there in the dark. Sorry about that.
We are working through plans for a whole new amenities block that should be underway in the New Year so that is very exciting. All the campers will love that.

Im glad you found the staff friendly as this is important to us that all our guest feel welcomed when they arrive and the views! You cant beat them.
We have moved into our new reception since you were last here. Big, spacious, modern and bright.
We might see you back this way in the future and hopefully we will have a new amenities block to show you.

Thanks again

cheers
