We had the pleasure to stay one night, our last in New Zealand in this lovely and homey place. The room was spotless and we really enjoyed the chance to say "hi" to their two sweet dogs and a friendly cat- they stayed outside, no worries! But their little faces came to the door now and then and waited for you to come outside (only if you wanted to) for a short hello, and then they went on their way. The ensuite bathroom was wonderful with a great shower - we LOVED it. We were tempted to play a round of golf (clubs would have been loaned to us- how sweet) but didn't quite have enough time. Enjoyed our brief stay in Tekapo and took in the Mount John Earth and Sky observatory stargazing tour as well. We weren't sure what time we would need to leave in the morning so did not book the breakfast - sorry cannot comment on that but the room was just great and the host welcoming and kind. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

We spent our last night in New Zealand at Tekapo Heights and it didn't disappoint in any way, even after staying at several other great places over the previous couple of weeks. This is a lovely big modern house in a great position high over the town, with views down to the lake. We were in the Southern Cross room which has a super en-suite bathroom and good facilities including a new digital satellite TV setup and free WiFi. On arrival Steve showed us around and helped us decide how best to spend the little time we had at Lake Tekapo. Next morning we had a great cooked breakfast and a chat before heading off to the airport.

I booked this place based on reading reviews like these and was stoked to find it was exactly as described: nice and clean, peaceful, and great location! The view was a great surprise, and they have set up an outside lounge area that is perfect for enjoying it. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and have great knowledge of the area.

The bathroom for the courtyard room is across the hall, but private...and AMAZING. SO spacious and new! The owners have two dogs and a cat, but they're the sweetest things ever. (Be careful not to leave the french doors open, as they're quite friendly! :)

We had a great night's sleep for our first night in New Zealand and were sad to leave so this place soon! I definitely recommend the property: great value for money!

Room Tip: Ask for the room that opens up to the courtyard: great spot to have breakfast and excellent views...

Couldn't ask for more...very comfortable with everything you might need, followed up with an excellent breakfast looking out of the window at a beautiful view. We were only passing through Tekapo but wished we could stay longer in this B&B as Steve and Jenny's home was very spacious and the large picture windows gave magnificent views of boththe night sky and lake Tekapo.

This Guest House is in an awesome location with a magniificent view. The hosts Steve and Jenny were lovely - welcoming and very helpful. We arrived in Lake Tekapo on a particularly hot day and our room had no fan, air-conditoner or cross ventilation through the house and so was quite uncomfortable. It was also really too small for a king sized bed, plus 2 adults and their suitcases. TV reception was not great. Overall we found Tekapo Heights rather pricey for what was provided, compared to other places we stayed on our trip.

Room Tip: Ask for one of their bigger rooms when you book.

I stayed at this property for 2 nights in early nov this year. Best part about this place is the location, especially the room with lake tekapo view, it snowed while we were there which was magical, snow capped mountains all around you, the only thing lacking in this term was that the bathroom was not attached, though it was an excellent bathroom, still I would recommend it, host was very helpful.

This accommodation was booked by our travel agent. Our hosts Steve & Jenny made us welcome from the outset into their family home. The guest folder in the room gave us all the information that we initially needed and they were also on hand to give advice and recommendations. Our room the Southern Cross room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a modern ensuite bathroom. It was only later, having visited the Mt John Observatory and been informed of the lack of light pollution in Tekapo, that significance of the large picture window in our room became apparent and a breathtaking view of the night sky. At breakfast time we were again treated to yet another million dollar view, through a huge picture window out onto Lake Tekapo while enjoying a delicious breakfast made up of plenty of choice and variety.
