My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Freda du Faur. Barry & Dawn were truly exceptional and very entertaining hosts. The room was clean and pleasant, and breakfast was quite yummy. And Bess, their dog, was so friendly, sweet and loving! It really was a highlight of our South Island tour, and we would go back there again in a heartbeat!

A very well appointed B & B with friendly hosts. Dawn & Barry generously share their home and make their guests feel like welcomed friends.

Beautiful house, clean room (though a little small), nice toilet/shower, cute fat cat, well landscaped gardens, stunning views and warm hosts.

Freda du Faur was meant to be an impersonal night stop on our way to Queenstown but thanks to Dawn and Barry's hospitality (and through a few thoroughly engaging conversations with them), it turned out to be one of the most memorable stays of the whole trip.

Although we only stayed with Dawn and Barry for one night we received a warm welcome with fresh smoked trout, terrific insights to the locale and a wonderful send-off breakfast. We shared the evening with a pair of touring Japaneese gentlemen and a single UK girl just back from climbing in the Mt Cook area. The area is rich in farming ad livestock and the video of the Himalayan Tahr was wonderfully informative.
A bit off our original route but the diversion was well worth it.

We felt the room we stayed in was clean but very small. Amenities for a luxury B & B such as wifi, private living area and full cooked to order breakfast were missing. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful with suggestions but, in short, the room in which we stayed did not compare to other B&B's that were priced much lower.

This very clean and presentable B&B is situated about one minutes’ drive from the centre of Tekapo and offers quaint gardens and lots of outdoor seating to take in the surrounding mountains. On arrival, we were met by Dawn who promptly offered a much-needed cup of tea and some very useful tourist information. We stayed in a double room with ensuite which was sufficiently big for our one-night visit. Towels and toiletries were provided.

A hearty breakfast was provided next morning that rounded off our very pleasant stay. If you need a clean, well presented B&B near Tekapo with lovely hosts, you won't be disappointed with this one. I would happily stay again.

This is a really nice B&B set in beautiful landscaped garedns with a view over Lake Tekapo. Nice comfortbale rooms and a couple or really nice restaurants close by. The nearby Lake is stunning. The house has a copule of pets. A fairly lazy cat and a very friendly black labrador. You will be made very welcome here and will enjoy your stay.
