My wife and I, along with two other couples, had the extraordinary experience of staying overnight at Braemar Station while cycling the A2O.
The drop dead gorgeous setting, with views over Lake Pukaki up the Tasman Valley to Mt Cook is unsurpassed. The warm and comfortable Lodge ~ a refurbished shearers quarters ~ is tastefully done while still referencing it's honest origins as a high country working station. We loved the restored vintage musters waggon which was configured as a double bedroom.
The attention to detail, the personal attendance extended by the owners and the beautiful clear night sky with the milky way and all the Southern stars close enough to reach out and touch has left an impression on our hearts that will stay forever. Graeme & Robyn Kennerley

Great views of mount cook, cattle throughout property. We stayed as a group in the large home which was great fun for us, cooking facilities, lounge etc. quiet, no tv or wifi, but fabulous views and quiet times.

Stayed here on the first night on the A2O cycle trail. Ideal spot with views to die for - see the photos. Lovely meal provided. BBQ'ed the steak, boiled up the new potatoes and yummy salad. Very comfortable bed.

We spent 2 nights at Braemar - in Pine Cottage - it was so lovely! we were rained in for almost a full day, so we lit the fire, settled in and got to spend the day together as a family, playing cards and entertaining ourselves. Such a nice change of pace. When it cleared up we went on a short drive and down to the lake shore and got some lovely photos - the view from Pine Cottage is nothing short of SPECTACULAR. I have never seen anything like it. (coming from Brisbane, Australia) The snow covered mountains, and the colour of Lake Pukaki is just something you can't believe until you see it in person! Would stay again in a heartbeat - Just make sure you stock up on food before you arrive, as it's fairly remote!

Room Tip: Pine Cottage has uninterrupted views - would definitely reccommend! Plenty of beds to sleep families, 2 singles, a bunk bed and a queen in the main bedroom, with another 2 singles in the room of the loungs :)

I can't say enough great things about this place. Beautiful accommodation. Warm, clean, and full of charm. Most breathtaking views. I didn't want to leave. I would (and will) recommend this place to anyone. So worth it. There is lots of room and the new kitchen and bathroom facilities are well maintained. I hope to return!

Room Tip: Every room was great :)
