Arriving down the long drive way we had no idea what a perfect afternoon we were about to enjoy. The building was a delight to behold as we drove up and it only got better. We received a warm welcome and were shown into the gardens. The place had a wonderful feel about it with croquet and bowls available. The staff were all friendly and exceptionally well trained and versed in the menu. The food was sublime and from pigs cheek & black pudding & pancetta starter to lamb rump and rib eye steak it was all simply gorgeous. The real stars of the show though were the little extras, home smoked salt, their own olive oil to compliment home made bread. Tobacco onion rings are an absolute must and the garden salad the best dressing I have ever eaten. When the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised and both said what exceptional value for money it had been. Reluctantly we left but with the comfort we will soon return and definitely stay over.

We are locals and just popped in to have a quick look what is all this Pig thing about. Well, what can I say ?!! All of my adjectives to describe the place would be stunning, lovely, beautiful, tasteful and so on.. The food is great, service second to none, setting , house itself - outstanding. Also great value for money, especially comparing to far overpriced Bath.

The hotel had a lovely decor and our room was clean and well-kept. The bed was very comfortable... The bath and rain shower were wonderful. Gardens pretty. I do wish they had room service for breakfast. The food in the restaurant was great, although we both had upset stomachs the day we left. The apple pie was way too tart, so best to avoid. That said, we'd return as we had a great weekend.

Popped in on the way home from dropping children off on a Friday early evening. Lovely setting especially the restaurant area, great attention to detail, well priced and very high quality non pretentious food - outstanding in fact.

Wine by the glass expensive so a treat but the staff and food made this place somewhere we would go in a flash when feeling flush.

We've just returned from a weekend stay at The Pig near Bath. The hotel is stunning both in its location and the quality of the decor/atmosphere. We stayed in a Comfy luxe room (11) and the bed was SO comfy...I don't think I've ever slept so well and even the morning chicken wake up call was a pleasure. The rooms are lovingly decorated with a real country feel. The bathroom was lovely with a roll top bath and rainfall shower (I could've stayed in there all weekend!). The true star of the hotel though is the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was really tasty. The staff were very knowledgable about the menu and wine list and were happy to offer assistance when needed. They even remembered my husbands mushroom allergy from one night to the next. The selection at breakfast was also impressive with lots of cereals, cake, cheese, fruit and freshly baked breads.
We would love to return our perhaps we'll try out one of the other Pig hotels.
If I was going to make one criticism it would be that the larder they advertise on their website is chargeable except for the tea and coffee, and for the price of the rooms and it being a foodie hotel, it would have been a nice gesture if at least some of the items were complimentary.

Well, we live 20 minutes away from the Pig Hotel and visit almost every week taking new -to -the- Pig each time who in turn will also take newbies. We LOVE it, welcoming, gorgeous staff, male and female, and the food is exceptional., just need to graduate to an over-nighter, which feels a bit decadent when on your doorstep ! can't wait... and don't forget the music evening in September, details on the website...will be fantastic evening. Thank you everyone there.....

Room Tip: Day tripper I'm afraid, gonna stay tho......Lizzy n Co.

Entering through the front door we passed a selection of muddy wellies - obviously walking in the grounds is very enjoyable. We were met by extremely friendly and helpful staff and shown to our table in the conservatory, with doors open all round - the outside coming inside. The ambience is excellent with pots of herbs and chillies adding to the decor. Home smoked salt and olive oil was on each of the tables, and the menu, although not huge has enough choice to vary meals if you stay for any length of time.

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The wine list was good, the food was good etc, etc. I would recommend this restaurant, and will be going back to try another of their dishes. Perhaps the rabbit next time.
