We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday Lunch here. The food was excellent, and cannot fault the service and friendliness of the staff. As it was a birthday celebration, they provided us with free liqueurs after the meal. Would definitely recommend!

We moved here for our last night before leaving Kings Lynn and what a pleasant surprise. It was a lovely place and the staff were very welcoming too. Nice comfortable room with own door from outside almost like a small cottage in fact. Nice quiet location in its own grounds with bar and retaurant. Had a few drinks and a meal which was good, shame we hadn't been booked here at the start. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone!

Room Tip: I only saw the room we stayed in which was a twin but they all seem to be the same. I would recommen...

First of all I have to say that the staff were very friendly and helpful. However for the £65 per night we paid you expect a little more. The rooms whilst clean are very dated and small, multiple bulbs had gone in our room. The bed was acceptable, but the headboard was loose, so every time we moved it banged on the wall.

We were staying here for a wedding. We we getting changed when house keeping happened. Asked them to come back later, but that never happened so our room wasn't made up.

For the duration of our stay the WiFi wasn't working. Also if you stay on a Sunday don't expect the bar to be open past 6pm.

On the plus side the breakfast we had on the first morning was good, but not included in the room price. In summary this B&B isn't bad, just a little over priced.

Main plus point for this hotel is the warm welcome and very attentive service from the staff. The hotel is family owned and family run, which creates the sort of pleasant atmosphere that's missing in the corporate hotels. They couldn't do enough for us - ordering taxis, helping with a car repair problem, even lending bow ties to two members of our party. OK, the decor may not be to everybody's taste but the place does have character. Food excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Only downside was the shower - very little power and either scalding hot or freezing.

Room Tip: The road is busy - the traffic noise didn't bother us but you might like to ask for a side room.

My husband and I stayed here from 27th - 29th April 2012 and, whilst the staff are very friendly, the bed comfortable, and restaurant food and breakfast very tasty, I do have to advise of the following points which mean that this establishment does definitely not warrant the four star rating. .In isolation they wouldn't have been bad but combined together this made it a real shame.

1) We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night - ordered our food at approx 8.10pm and didn't get served until 9.20pm. There was one lady who seemed to be both waitressing and manning the bar and she was very apologetic for the delay (I asked for a free round of drinks to make our wait a bit more bearable which was agreed, but still not what we expect). There were only 10 other people dining so it wasn't overly busy. On the plus side the food was gorgeous.

2) The door to the cupboard which acted as the wardrobe didn't shut properly.

3) The towels were badly frayed and stringy. After the room had been cleaned on the Sat we were left with just one large towel (not two for two people like we had on the fri)

4) The bathroom fan was not fully secured to the ceiling and made an awful racket - you got used to the noise after a fashion but we serioulsy wondered why tehre was so much noise to begin with.

5) The bath panel was hanging off at one end

6) The cold tap in the bathroom sink was not fully intact (the top bit was missing).

I am aware that this review makes it sound like this place is absolutley awful. This is not the case and, as I have said earlier, if there had just been one or two things then this stay would have been absolutely fine.

I did point out to the lady when we were checking out that I did not think that the place deserves i's four stars and advised her of some of the items above which led me to my conclusion. She was most concerned that the towels were frayed as apparently they are only three months old but did not offer any other explanation for the poor quality of the room.

.

Room Tip: Maybe the inside rooms are better

Well yes, they can have a couple of stars for the breakfast. The 'deluxe' suite had no shower & could've done with a decent clean frankly. Don't really know how they survive. It can't be from repeat custom.

The place is a family shrine but we didn't meet anyone in the various photographs. It felt like we were in someone's house but that we hadn't been invited...I guess you could call it kitch,

We waited an age for dinner, maybe they were short staffed but no one said anything.
We are coming back to the area & will stay up the road in the reasonably priced hotel...with showers.
