Getaway from COVID

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Mar 2021via mobile
Good to be back in this place after so many years and after COVID 19 Travel restrictions were eased here in our province. A better place to unwind with my wife and friends.

Nice laid back life. Staying at their nice and beautiful shack houses All houses has no aircontion for it is thieir resort's concept.

Driftwood can now be accessed easily through Nauhang road via Montilla Market because roads were being constructed to make the sugar beach accessible aside through motor boats from Sipalay City proper.

The staff were great and accomodating as always. They strictly implement COVID 19 Health protocols of the City and of the Province.

It’s not easy getting to Sugar Beach so this limite the number of guests. It’s a stunning beach in a small bay with 8 small guest resorts or so. At Driftwood, we quickly realized that most people were there for a month and were repeat visitors, so this tells you a lot!

The resort is pretty, understated and very reasonable. The highlight though is the staff who are amazing and will make your visit special.

However, if you want action this is not the place! It’s very chill. At night there are enough options for eating at Driftwood and the other resorts. The food at Driftwood is also very good.

Be sure to ask if you can see some choices for the cottages as they are all quite different.

I spent a few days at Driftwood village,,what a great place to stay
Staff are excellent ,very friendly ,great service ,food good,,brewed coffee to die for
Rooms vary in price but are all very good, made out of bamboo, driftwood,
Perfectly positioned in the middle of Sugar Beach
I spent most of my day swimming and lazing in the hammocks
If you feel motivated try the mountain climb with one of the guides
I went up the mountain with Jimmy, what a legend, although he only wore slippers make sure you wear joggers, remember we are not as resilient as the Filipinos
Best view you will ever see, worth the sweat involved
So overall the Driftwood Village is an excellent place to stay and its the staff that put the icing on the cake ,they spent half an hour waving good bye to me when I left,Thanks girls you are all terrific
Places are people and Driftwood certainly confirms that
Salamat

Sipalay is a very small town with so many places to see. I was looking for places to stay and thank goodness I found Driftwood Sipalay!

Sugar Beach is a great place to stay in Sipalay. The location of this resort is right in the middle of the beach. From a far, you won't really see it because of the huge trees and when you go inside, you will be amazed by the lush garden they have in the resort.

I love the idea of Nipa huts! It's simple and very rustic. Just the kind of place I was really looking for on a holiday. The Inside is very cool and very clean. The bathroom has a hot and cold shower which is amazing. And the bed was very comfortable. I miss the idea of using a mosquito net.

The food were also delicious and they are good enough for two which is great. Do not forget to try the Satay and their pastas. On my last day, I tried the muesli and it was really nice!

And for this relaxing experience, you don't need to spend too much because the rooms were pretty much affordable. I only paid less than 1k for my room. That was very reasonable.

If you are looking for a very relaxing place away from all the busy lifestyle in the Metro. This is the place to be!

Room tip: Try the Mhyna Hut! They are so cool!

It's good value for money with lovely staff and beautiful surroundings.
Prices range from PHP 300 in the dorm, PHP 450-600 for bungalows with shared bathroom to PHP 800 for bungalows with private bath.
You get everything you need in Driftwood Village, but also have other choices along the Sugar Beach, if you wish to change location during the day or evening.

Very nice place, very relaxed and friendly, great food!

Don't miss to do a short hike up the hill in the morning or evening. It takes about an hour and gives you an overwhelming view of the surrounding. Half way up lives a man called Cinto, who has travelled a lot, speaks almost fluently English and who has a beautiful soul. We met him walking up in the morning and then returned in the evening to talk more with him and enjoy the sunset :)

good chance to meet a fantastic person :)
