We had been recommended this hotel by some friends who had stayed there a few weeks before us. The highlight from our perspective was the child care offered for babies as young as 6 months which promised a bit of a respite for my wife and me (any parent with two young children will know what I'm talking about). Upon arrival we found a very friendly and welcoming place with all the amenities you can ask for in a family hotel - big rooms, baby phones, water boiler, changing mats, the works. The are separate play rooms for kids (including a room full of playstations and other electronic gizmos), a pool with a big slide, a fitness centre, and so on. The hotel is only a 2mins walk away from the ski lift and 10mins from the town centre. The food was fantastic and convinced even my wife (who is very fussy when it comes to eating). But ... the child care (i.e. the main reason why we chose this hotel) was a bit of a let-down. The team was completely under-staffed, in particular for the care of young babies. Only one of them (Carmen) showed real interest in the kids - the others were indifferent at best. On multiple occations there was only a single carer looking after 10 or more children which was alright for our 2.5-year-old son but obviously not sufficient for our 6-month-old daughter. We attempted twice to leave her at the place only to be called back within 5mins because she was crying. We ultimately gave up and made alternative arrangements. We still enjoyed our stay but I would not recommend anyone with very young children to stay there - at least not with the intention to use the child care facilities.
