Just Perfect !
Not something that can be said for many hotels but the Hotel Tirol In Fiss IS just perfect. We stayed for a week on half board basis for the skiing (Serfaus, Fiss, Ladis area). We booked online direct with the hotel and Angelina could not have been more helpfull and all the staff really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable although many of them hardly spoke any english ! The food was superb, although not massive portions but with six courses to go at it was enough for our party of farmers with very healthy appetites even after a full days skiing. We paid 8 euros per person a day more for a better standard room which was well worth it (large corner bath, seperate shower, underfloor heating). They organised all our lift passes and had ski and boot storage organised near the gondalas so we didn't have to carry anything back to the hotel. A wellness centre is also available but we didn't use it, no need to after 7 hours skiing everyday ! It was a very family friendly hotel with many young children (very well behaved) and Fiss is a very family friendly resort, as is Serfaus and Ladis. Very few English people go there, in fact in the hotel we met an english gentleman who had been staying there every year for the last 36 years and we were the first english people he had ever come accross. Just go, you will enjoy it.

I am writing this review to share our lovely experience at this hotel. Firstly, I would like to say that the ski resort itself was great. We were impressed by the the whole set up. It is about 180kms of pistes and the three towns are all linked. Plenty of Gondalos & chairlifts, with long runs down to the villages/towns and a lovely 10km red run (Frommesabfahrt). The childrens facilities were vast and also excellent beginners facilities.
The off-piste looked good (although not much fresh snow when we were there) and some good wooded areas for more fun! We only did a couple of days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The best was NO QUEUES!!! Heaven!
We stayed in Ladis, the smallest village, with very limited nightlife, so not for the nightowls! We found a lovely little bar, which was enough for us! There are several restaurants and not much more. The hotel was fantastic. Reasonably priced with large comfortable rooms. Good, varied breakfast and wellness centre. They will organise restuarant resevations, skipass and storage of skis & boots at the station. Welcome drink on arrival and although only B&B they will do evening snacks/warm food on request. They are very friendly & do speak English if need be. The hotel has rooms and a couple of apartments, is only a couple 100m from the Gondola station & in centre of village.
Would recommend this hotel to families and total ski buffs, but not young, party goers! Ladis is very quiet and again only for families & serious skiers who want peace & quiet after a long tiring day on the slopes. Serfaus & Fiss are larger towns with many more facilities.
Great ski resort with no English tour operaters, so a knowledge of German would be helpful, but we found the experience fantastic!
