Croatia is a beautiful place but the Velaris lets its self down. It rated as four star but in my opinion just about makes three. Three hundred + rooms and only about fifty of those could be four star. The food is not four star and on one evening it was difficult to put an evening meal together as nothing seemed to fit. Most times it is very samey. The room size is okay but the fittings let them down. Our first visit to the hotel bar (small) we waited forty minuits for our drinks and they were wrong other people were being served before us and the barman bought over three glasses of rosie wine and a white not the three reds and a sprite we ordered. We hired a car through reception for two days parking in the hotel overnight only to be informed the following morning by a note on the windscreen that they charge for parking not a lot but this should have been mentioned at the time of hiring. The maid failed to leave us extra toilet rolls one morning and we ran out (not desperate) phoned reception and was told they would send some over thirty minuits later I went to reception and was told she didnt know anything about this (comunication problem). The hotel beach bar and grill only has protacabin toilets which were not that clean considering its serving food and there is uesally a long wait for the food. The fruit cocktail bars toilets just along the beach were spotless. When checking out we were hit with a £20 residency tax bill (which we are trying to claim back through our travel agent).Air conditioning was noisy as was the light in the bathroom. The swimming pool is tiny not big enough to swim in. All told we wont the rushing back to this Hotel?.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for four star rooms.

We visited brac in Croatia for the first time as we were told what a beautiful place it was and stayed at the Velaris tourist resort. It is very picturesque but very quiet if you like a little quiet holiday this is for you. We found it too quiet in September and also the weather was very unpredictable advice to take a rain coat. If your looking for a sandy beach you will be disappointed as most are rocky you must take sea shoes. Also the sea is Freezing even when the sun shone it never warmed up. Far to cold for us. The Velaris resort was ok but only really catered for Germans, French and Dutch, the food in restaurant was very repetitive if you like pork and fish you'll be fine breakfast was even worse eggs, eggs and more eggs with frankfurters and vegetables anything left from last nights dinners went out with breakfast . Staff were nice, the room we were put in was very small and No Balcony so very dissappointed. Nothing in Supeta accept 2-3 restaurants and a couple of bars everything shut at 10pm. We won't be going back to Coatia maybe mainland is more lively but not for us.

We stayed in one of the Garden rooms directly underneath the restaurant. Twin beds plus a double sofa-bed, the latter just about big enough for a teenager and younger sibling. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We suffered a little from 'critters' in the room but that was probably because we left crumbs of food which weren't cleaned up. We reported it to reception and they were prompt to do a more thorough clean that same day which reduced the problem.

We stayed half-board which was very good value. The restaurant staff work extremely hard and were very attentive. Several main dishes every night meant there was something for even the fussiest of eaters. For breakfast there was the usual dish made from what wasn't consumed the evening before, but fresh dishes as well. The kids definitely liked the American style pancakes which are cooked fresh as quickly as the guests can consume them. Honey and homemade jams and marmalade were also very nice. The food was varied and good quality for a buffet style menu. Only a couple of main dishes repeated within 14 days which is pretty good. The soups were a little bland but were all homemade. The desserts were a bit samey, which was disappointing. If you like watermelon then there is an endless supply. We especially like that the restaurant serves much of it own produce (vegetables and salads), with roasted pumpkin one of our favourites.

The beachside bar needs to be better organised. Long waits for food and most days they run out of everything and you're greeted with "no food, we only have fish and salads" any time after 2pm. Prices are reasonable at £3 for a large beer and £7 for a homemade pizza.

The hotel pool is small but at least it's freshwater unlike many beachside pools in Croatia. The water was very cold (much colder than the sea) but a nice place to finish off the day.

The small cove adjacent to the hotel was beautiful. Don't bother with the sunbeds. They are just as hard as laying of the floor. Better to buy a beach mattress sold by many of the local shops. Within a short walk there are several beach bars and watersports operators. Prices are reasonable (a lot lower than the Med).

The water was warm (most days) and there was an abundance of fish, crabs, sea urchins and sea cucumbers to keep the snorklers happy. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore within a 15 minute swim.

Jet2 don't operate directly on the island. They hand you over to Atlas at Split airport as the local operator. Return was a little disorganised with a long wait for transfer coach after the ferry journey. Getting on and off the ferry with a couple of large suitcases is a bit of hassle since there's no porterage.

This was our second time in Croatia and we'll definitely be back. The coastline is beautiful, good food, warm crystal clear seas and the people very friendly.

This is a really pleasant and friendly resort situated in the quiet town of Supetar. The resort is right by the beach and surrounded by a beautiful garden and a small pine forest - the location is beautiful. We stayed in one of the pavillons rather than in the main hotel. The room was basic but had everything that we needed during the stay. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were good, there was a great selection of food on offer. The pool was rather small but clean and the beach was well maintained. I have used the hotel spa once during my stay and the massage was amazing, I highly recommend treating yourself to one! Overall, we were happy with Velaris and would return there again.

We stayed in the Amour hotel in room 211 which was very modern with a partial sea view. No complaints, however a kettle would have been nice. The food was mainly good, one evening we struggled to find anything, other than that OK. We went to the garden grill restaurant one evening via a complimentary taxi. This is one of the nicest restaurants you could wish for and the food was top drawer. It cost £70 per couple for 3 courses and a bottle of wine.
There are only 14 sun beds around the pool, however you can often find a space. A better choice is the beach or decking along the sea front. Sun beds cost £3.50 for the day.
It's a 15 minute walk to the harbour area where there are some nice pubs / bars. Liked the beer garden at £3 pint, which is an average price. Meals are from £10 at average bars.
The beaches are shingle and you need shoes on to go in the sea, the water is very clear and full of fish. Shallow bay to the left of the hotel is very good.
The ferry to Split is £7 return and takes about 50 mins. Split old town is nice, everything is more expensive than Supetar though.
Not too many English at this hotel, mainly couples and older ladies. All very well behaved.
Would go again.

Room Tip: Amour top floor sea view
