Stayed here for 2 nights in October '13 and were happy in all respects with this hotel. Nice room with a very comfortable bed and nice bedlinen though we had difficulty trying to reset the temperature of the air conditioning. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river on the other side of the road, (though this road is busy in early morning and evening). Very helpful staff on the reception desk and information readily available on nearby restaurants. Nice wine bar where a limited but attractive food menu was available. Parking available at extra cost, secure behind locked electric gates, some under cover, some outside, but plenty of parking available in the area alongside the river opposite. Would thoroughly recommend. Ideal for exploring Libourne, and close to the wine area of St.Emilion.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the river have a balcony though not much room to sit out, only 1 chair in the room...

We stayed in this hotel for a week. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and assisted booking restaurants when asked. The rooms are clean, well decorated and have all necessary facilities. Breakfasts were good with a range of cold and some hot dishes available, a limited menu of microwaved? food is available in the evening. The hotel is in a convenient location just out of the City centre but within easy walking distance. There are few restaurants in the immediate vicinity but there is a very good restaurant within 5 minutes walk along the riverside. A very good base for touring the region.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The room was very small. However, it was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was more than adequate and there was a separate toilet which is a positive.

The town has quite a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and it is not a bad location for exploring the region.

However, the surfeit of wood grain laminex in the room makes it look very dated. I do not think it is worthy of four stars as it is of a pretty average standard. Having said that, it may well be the best hotel in the town. Last time, we stayed in Bordeaux which is probably a better option if you have not been to the area before.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, Nicely decorated very modern and clean. breakfast expensive, but a good choice although did have to ask for top up of items. I know the french love their dogs, but I don't expect them to bring them down to breakfast. A beautiful Golden Retriever was in the room across the hall to us didn't ever hear it but if you have allergies best to check to see if they have any rooms that dogs haven't been in. We didn't, husband slightly allergic. I have two dogs and would never take them into a place where people are eating or sleeping. Barman very friendly great choice of wines etc. We didn't eat in the hotel as they didn't seem to do evening meals but ate around the corner and near the hotel. Parking is free outside of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you have allergies to dogs ask if they have a room that is pet free.

Room adequate but unortunately no evening dinner available in Hotel. Breakfast was adequate but we got caught up in a group booking coming through so it was a bit "crowded" and clearly more staff should have been servingy

Maps and info issued by Hotel was/is incorrect as to location but it can be found.

Personnel very helpful

This classy Mercure hotel is favoured by many UK wine buyers and writers, close to St Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac. One hour drive to the Bordeaux D2, classic wine route. Hot breakfast options with bacon and eggs, boiled or scrambled; plus normal continental. Limited hotel restaurant, very nice bar with fine wine selection. Gated secure parking. Airconditioning that worked 24 hours in plus 39C days. Telepeague electronic toll payment tag can save one hour on the drive back to Paris or Calais, avoiding toll cash payment queues. Very friendly and attentive reception Staff and Manageress.
