“Three night stay”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

We stayed here for three nights. One night before we hiked the TMB and two nights after. The room was spacious. The breakfast was good but a little expensive for what you get. The hotel is conveniently located on the TMB route. They also store your luggage for free,

Patrizia and her husband run a tight ship here, particularly in the busy TMB season. All the guests were hikers when we stayed and that meant we started breakfast at 7.30 (en masse) and were all out by 8am! Handled with aplomb by Patrizia and her husband.
Room was decent size, nice view. En suite large and adequate. Lovely garden and nice little pool for cooling down after a long hike. Would recommend.

Room Tip: I don't think you can go too far wrong ....

The hotel is very nice, the breakfast superb, the room clean and a bit worn out, we were only disappointed by the lack of shower, a 70s bathroom with a bathtub, sink etc.
Overall a good place to stay near the lifts.
The family running it is very friendly and will give you all the info you need, they do speak English.

Clean and friendly hotel, close to free bus which is 5 mins from les houche ski lifts. Excellent brekfast range but no inhouse restaurant in evenings. there is a tea salon open to 7.30 for light snacks, recommned the omelette and bar open till 10. Owners very helpful , free wi fi and satellite tv. Various restaurants within 3-10 mins walk. Only 10 mins on bus to Chamonix. Would recommned if you are using les houces ski slopes. Supermarket, poster, bakery and ESF booking options all within 5 mins walk. Ski hire within a few mins where discount if you are staying at the hotel.

Spent 3 nights at the hotel with a friend and my 6 year old son . Had a warm welcome from the owners who were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and the hotel is well situated, within walking distance of slopes, supermarket and restaurants. Would definitely use it again if in the area.

My friends and I stayed here the first night before we started hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc. This is a small, beautifully quaint hotel, and the staff were very kind to us (both the ones that didn't speak English and the ones who did!). The rooms are a bit beat-up, but pretty on par for what we paid. We got a triple, which had three single beds - loved this option since we were three girlfriends traveling together.

The place had free wifi, which was a nice perk (last chance to stock up my e-reader with books before we started our trek!), and the staff were very helpful in trying to call refuges for us so that we could book our next few nights' accommodation.

The bathroom was--in my experience--a typical French hotel bathroom, in that it lacked a fixed shower. It had a bathtub and the handheld hose you could shower with if you chose not to take a bath. As I inevitably always do, I got the entire bathroom drenched in my attempts to use it, though; when you're an American used to a fixed shower, these things can be a real challenge! Plenty of hot water and towels and such, though, so it was fine.

We stored our luggage here while we trekked (8 days), and it was safe and sound waiting for us when we returned. That peace of mind alone was worth the price of staying here.

The grounds around this place are lovely! They have a small pool, plus a gorgeous courtyard/al fresco dining area with lots of lovingly tended to flowers. Our room also had a balcony and was directly above the bakery located downstairs next door. At 3am, the scent of freshly baked bread and croissants wafted through our room - lovely! There was a surprising amount of street noise, given that Les Houches is such a small little town, but there's really only one main drag, so that's to be expected.

The location is great. There's a grocery story right across the street, some cute little cafes a few doors down, the bus stop for the free shuttle to Chamonix right out front, and of course that lovely bakery next door (and they DO have take-away coffees - Americans, rejoice!). It was about a 10-12 minute walk to the TMB trailhead (counterclockwise route), so that worked really well, too. I would definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back to this part of the world.

Room Tip: Get one with a balcony for beautiful views and the scent of fresh baked goods wafting through your d...

The charming decor, warm welcome, and lovingly prepared meals continue to make this one of our favorite hotels. A delightfully cozy "home" just a few minutes from bustling Chamonix--with exceptional cuisine at affordable prices.
