Very comfortable chalet. We just stayed one night en route from Italy and it was really convenient from the motorway. Maddy and Andy friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. It was quiet, easy to find, clean and everything you would want. Would go again

We stayed over the Easter weekend and found Maddie and Andy to be extremely friendly . They live out so you have the chalet to yourselves after dinner. The food was delicious and the chalet was lovely- great views of the mountains.
Although the chalet is so convenient for the lift to the Les Houches skiing area, we skied in Argentiere , about a 20 min drive . The snow was perfect over there- it was mid April and had luckily snowed the night before.
The hot tub was welcome after a day's skiing and the husky, Nanook was very cute.
We hope to go back sometime soon. It would be great to visit in the summer and autumn too as there are many activities/walks to do in the area. Chamonix is about 10 minutes drive away..

Based on other reviews, we had high expectations when we arrived. They were all met and even exceeded. The location is excellent with ski-in possibility and the main lift station (Prarion) just outside the chalet. We had our daughter in the ski school, which had their morning gatherings 50 metres from the house, which meant we could easily leave her there and then go back to finish our breakfast. Andy and Maddy were really friendly and flexible hosts with a high level of service mindedness paired with a very sympathetic down-to-earth attitude. Initially, we had plans to visit different ski resorts during our stay and maybe even some restaurants. Because of the location, the cosiness of the chalet and the excellent meals prepared by Andy each night, however, we never felt we really wanted to go other places. Les Houches is a mid-size resort with some variety, not very challenging (although the famous Kandahar slope is a tough one), ideal for families and non-extreme skiers. One of the days we still went to Brévent, which is a larger resort closer to Chamonix. Maddy brought us there in the morning and after a long and exhausting day on the slopes, she came to pick us up only minutes after we came down from the mountain. Very appreciated, not at least by our daughter. The chalet itself is quiet, well-equipped and cosy. We had a family room in the basement, including a bathroom of our own. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean and with hotel standard. All in all, our experience was just perfect and we can only recommend this to any kind of traveller looking for a relaxing place to stay with close proximity to some of the world's best ski areas. I can imagine the summers there must be great as well.

We stayed here with friends and had the most amazing week. It all started with being greeted with a beer by the lovely Maddie and Andy. Within a few days it felt like we were visiting friends and nothing was too much trouble for Maddie and Andy. Maddie had spent some time trying to book up husky sledging for us before we arrived but unfortunately there was no availability, so instead of missing out They offered me a ride on their lovely dog nanuk's sledge!! We were thoroughly spoilt when there with delicious food from Andy every day and as much wine as we wanted with dinner. We were wowed by the views from the chalet the moment we arrived, you really are just a 1 minute walk from the bottom of the ski lift, and not much can beat the views from the hot tub after a day on the slopes.

On a practical note, getting to the chalet from London is really easy, we had a short flight to Geneva and then got a mountain drop off from the airport to the chalet. We were the first drop off also meaning we were last to be picked up on the way back to the airport to go home so couldn't really have been easier. We also used the recommended ski hire who came to the chalet to drop off and pick up our boards so again really convent meaning we could get started straight away on enjoying the holiday! We will definitely be visiting bluebird chalet again.

We had a fabulous time with Bluebird Chalets in Feb 2014.
Maddy and Andy were great hosts, and very friendly and accommodating. The kids loved Nanuq the Husky dog also!
Great HOT TUB views! and fantastic location.
We love Chamonix and will definitely return to this chalet next year!

This is a charming and very comfortable cosy chalet run by Maddy and Andy who are great hosts. I arrived 1 day ahead of friends and felt immediately at home. They offered great advise in terms of where best to ski in relation to the day's weather.

The chalet is stumbling distance from the lift for Les Houches so no exhausting treks with skis or boards. Maddy will also give you a lift to any of the other Chamonix ski areas (and pick you up again).

The food cooked by Andy was excellent, varied and plentiful.

The hot tub looked amazing so don't forget to pack your bathers (as I did)!

The only extra thing we could have asked for was more sunshine....the only thing Maddy & Andy couldn't rustle up for us!!

Great few days - thanks guys :)

Amazing food, fantastic hosts, great location. Highly recommend bluebird chalets! Did I mention the amazing food! Andy and Maddie gave great advice on skiing locations. They also gave us lifts to and from the different resorts. The accommodation was of an extremely high quality, and right next to a lift. The hot tub was a great addition.
