“A lovely small Comfortable and friendly hotel in a great position in this super ski village”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

This was a return visit this time with my 13 year old son. The Slalom hotel offers an almost ski in and out location and is just opposite the Bellvue lift station and three excellent little restaurants. The proprietor Tracy is a most friendly helpful hotelier and runs this lovely little hotel superbly. The hotel has no on site car parking but the free public car park at the Bellvue lift station is almost opposite. The hotel bar is a small friendly meeting place with a light contemporary feel and a popular meeting place and with splendid views of the mountains and across to Chamonix. The breakfasts are excellent! My son and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be returning again soon.

We have to agree with all the praises written about this Hotel. Tracy goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable & keeps you well informed on eating & touring options. She was the most friendly hostess we had in our 6 week europe trip & we felt we were having discussions with one of our friends after a few days. Tracey even told us how to get access to a 1 star michelin restaurant in chamonix for just 19 euros each. The views from the apartments are stunning...something inspiring to wake up to.
Breakfast is hearty & varied , including local fruits making up for a great start to the day.
As we went in the last week in September, the crowds were right down & this enhanced our hiking experience, for popular tracks we were on our own for hours...
We will come back !..

Note: the Hotel does not have a Restaurant, however Tracy sent us to a local restaurant, minutes away which was good value & had great regional food. There is a local bus service to Chamonix or a 5-10 minute car trip

We stayed with Tracey in August 2011, can't recommend this highly enough, Tracey is the perfect proprietor, English, excellent knowledge of the surrounding areas and where to walk etc. The standard of the hotel is excellent with very tasteful decor, and the views are stunning. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room had a bath, most welcome after a long day hiking. Nothing is too much trouble for either Tracey or Anna, breakfast is excellent, highly recommend, also, just speak to Tracey when you book & she'll sort out the airport transfers for you.
An ideal location if you want to be away from the hustle & busstle of Chamonix, bus & train service into town is frequent and free of charge to travel up & down the Chamonix Valley. A beautiful place to visit, abundance of walks at all levels and extremely handy for anyone doing TMB. The small bar is perfect for a well earned refreshment after a long day.
Thank you Tracey for everything, you & Anna were wonderful hosts & we cannot thank you enough - would not hessitate to rebook with you next time we come back.

Best wishes to you both,

Ged & Sue.

Thankyou, Tracy, for a wonderful introduction to Les Houches-Chamonix. This hotel is exceptionally comfortable, and every effort was made to answer our many questions. Tracy Spraggs provided a service above and beyond that of the usual hotelier, with her local knowledge and advice about eating and shopping nearby. Breakfast was terrific, and internet service excellent. The views from our room were unbelievable, and a wonderful beginning (and end) to our walking Tour du Mont Blanc.

Room Tip: views from rooms with a window on S and E are absolutely stunning, with snow-capped peaks & glac...

We stayed at Hotel Slalom after hiking a portion of the Tour de Mont Blanc (the counter-clockwise route starts right across the street!). What a marvellous place to stay. The proprietor, Tracey, is a wonderful host. Our room was very well appointed and the small bar is perfect for a late afternoon drink (we loved the large windows and the spectacular view). We happened to be staying on a Wednesday night and so we took advantage of Quiz Night in the bar after dinner. We had many laughs during the evening, especially when Tracey inserted an easy question for Canadians (most of the questions were geared towards the British regulars).

The breakfast was amazing... best croissants that we sampled in our three weeks in France.

Stay here... you will not be disappointed.

My husband stayed here for the 4th time in August (mountaineering's his hobby) and after singing it's praises I came with him this year . My sister and friend came also. As he had said the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious with fab views and the lovely Tracey and staff were as welcoming and hospitable as ever. I might add that I loved the modern interior decor and free wi-fi was a bonus. Anna's breakfasts were great and Miki even drove us to the train station at 7 am on the day we left! It was a wonderful experience for all.

Room Tip: Room 8 was super and room 5 and 9 good also.

We stayed for a night but wish we'd stayed longer. The hotel was gorgeous, and Tracy was a welcoming host.

We stayed in a double room. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and a good size.
We had great views of the mountains from our windows.

Breakfast at €10 was delicious. Parking was free.
