The location is spectacular, or as the British would say, brilliant! The hotel itself is a great bargin.. we stayed 2 nights, june 17 thru 19, and it was hot! 30+ degree weather and no a/c in the rooms... that's the biggest down fall I can see here... beds are comfy, lots of pillows, bathroom is teeny! Expensive for coffee, 4 euros per cup, breakfast is 10 euros and supper by res only.. also expensive, we didnt partake instead choosing to get our own supper at the local grocery one night and eating at a different hotel restaurant another... otherwise I recommend staying here... free parking... ask and pay for Mont Blanc view, u wont regret it!

We stayed at this hotel in May this year. We went there with a group of friends and we really enjoyed the nice and comfortable lounges, with amazing views - especially from the 1st floor lounge. The place is beautifully decorated and it gives you a feeling of a home in the mountains.

The breakfast was well worth the 10 euros, and had a good selection of food. The coffee was not great though.

The rooms are very simple, with basic furniture. The bed linen was of good quality, but the beds were not very comfortable and the toilet room is really small.
On the other hand, the view from our room was just stunning!

Overall I found this hotel very cosy, with excellent value for your money. I will definitely go back!

We liked this hotel so much we stayed 2 nights instead of just one which we booked. Friendly staff, spotless room with a stunning view of Mt Blanc. Very comfortable bed and nice linens. The breakfast cost 10 euro but was worth it a there was a nice selection of hot and cold food. Dinner was also served but we ate out - understand the food was excellent . Easy drive to Chamonix, the village of les Houches and we walked up to the Bosson Glacier. Also drove into Switzerland avoiding the Mont Blanc tunnel which was almost 50 euro each way! This hotel was excellent value - would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the village and Mt Blanc

Nice and beautiful, the kind of mountain house one dreams of having someday! We just stopped over here from Milan on way to Paris for the night, and I'm always wary of small family run properties- they are unreliable and tend to swing the extremes of good and bad, depending on the mood that day, but this is a cheerful and beautifully done up chalet, nice lounges, sweet smell of wood fire, fresh mountain air…intoxicating.
Upper floor have rooms and we got the corner, mountain facing one on the second floor. For the three of us friends, room was really tiny, one small double and a bunk but the outdoor sitout and the breathtaking view, well compensated. Had dinner, which was freshly prepared and served with a beautiful smile!
Overall: Nice place that stays with you, not for the room/bathroom/food or amenities but for the sheer beauty of the locale, and the fragrances that connect you to your being, and take you back in time!

Room Tip: Corner room, mountain facing on the 2nd./3rd. floor!

Myself and my girlfriend recently stayed here for a week! We were happy with some aspects of the hotel but disapointed with others.

The fact that it is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the nearest bus stop so if you have no transport it could be a problem for some! No english channels on the t v and I payed for a better room I was surprised to find the room was very basic it looked a bit run down and a bit grubby too with cracks in the plaster although we did have a balcony.

They served up an ok breakfast at 10 euros p p we ate there a few times and the food was ok! There are a few resteraunts in les houches but for better choice you have to head to chamonix.

The hotel give you a card when you arrive which entitles you to free bus and train travel! A nice little idea I thought the staff were friendly and helpful too.

I might stay again here! But would certainly consider other hotels too.

Booked for a same day arrival. Due to weather conditions the arrival time was around 10pm. Informed the very nice owner about our late arrival in advance as we had asked for dining possibilities before and we were told that we can dine even after 9pm, which sounded very nice. After our late arrival the owner suggested to have Tartiflette with a green salad (as the kitchen was closed), added a pitcher of white wine and two scoops of Ice Cream and the next day when checking out we received an invoice of 54 Euro... additionally to the already pre-paid room amount of 75 Euro... I know, that it is Les Houches and the area is certainly a bit pricier than other resorts, but charging for a simple Tartiflette 16 Euro per person does just sound a bit like rip off. (It's about the price you would pay on the slope and it was definitely not worth the money...) We tried to understand the amount when checking out and also were confused by a second Ice Cream on the bill which we did not have. A mistake is always possible... Unfortunately our experience was not so nice here... Please bear in mind, that the rooms are very simple (it's a 2** hotel) and does not really look like on the pictures. It was nice that we were given a room that would sleep up to 4, but as mentioned earlier the bath room looked totally different and not remodeled. After this night we head to Courmayeur and found a really nice place to stay overnight...

We were in Les Houches again for the Inter-schools ski races and returned to Les Campanules. Every year we return to discover that the owners have tweaked and improved some aspect of the hotel. This time a fitness suite / spa had been introduced - and the Menu du Chalet that is part of the standard half board package had been significantly improved as well.

There were several ski teams staying whilst we were there - ski racing = early starts. Vincent and Maria and their team could not have been more helpful in ensuring that a hot breakfast was available from 06.30 on race mornings.

So, all-in-all, another great stay.

Room Tip: You have the option to have a room with a forest view - the back of the hotel - not bad. Or, a room...
