“Wonderful first night of Tour Mt Blanc”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

This was booked by Macs Adventures and even though we had to walk our bags up from the train station - wee bit of a hill - it was a wonderful place to stay and would love to stay again and longer. Dinner and breakfast very nice.

Room Tip: Bathrooms don't have a lot of privacy.

It's a little outside of Chamonix but if you have transportation, it's well worth it to stay here. Beautiful setting, extremely accommodating staff (the day we were there the owner looked at the weather report and recommended an alternative activity because the mountain would be foggy and "it would be a waste of your money". He even provided water and snacks for our hike for free).

If you're looking for a place away from the noise of Chamonix, this is an excellent choice. It is a small hotel where the staff is most helpful and friendly. After the first day they greet you like family. The dining room chef is excellent. They offer a daily dinner special that is excellent and very good value.

Very good hotel outstanding views across the valley to Mt Blanc, rooms were nice and have balconies hotel has a nice bar and lounge and outdoor seating area, I had the set menu for the day in the restaurant and it was excellent and good value. There is a train station nearby excellent for visiting Chamonix and surrounding villages.

Room Tip: All rooms have excellent views

This is a rave review hotel with an unbelievable view of Mt. Blanc from your front facing room (a small extra charge). Internet access is slow but a minor issue. The breakfast buffet was very good with cheeses, yogurt, meat, cereal, rolls, eggs, pancakes, juices, and coffee/tea. We were able to dine on the patio while viewing Mt. Blanc. The town of Chamonix is a 10 minute drive away with a wide variety of dinner options. The hotel serves dinners during high season but was not open when we were there. The staff (Vincent) were helpful and had suggestions for dinner and local sights. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was was also small but the fixtures were modern and upgraded. The bed was very comfortable. Desk space was sparse and an extra bed in the room served as a storage area for our suitcases and other items. Parking was free in front of the hotel. Very warm and comfortable public areas. I definitely would stay here again. Pricing for the room was a value. The GPS location was a little off with the address but continue up the hill another 100 meters.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for the upper front room location.

From the moment we drove up to this lovely place we felt welcomed and valued. The owner, Vincent, is incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped us plan outings and dinner reservations in town. The breakfast was quite tasty and included items we haven't had in European buffets before, such as pancakes and maple syrup. There was even hot chocolate mix and cocoa puffs for kids! It was a lovely day so we sat outside on the terrace and ate our breakfast. The rooms are cozy but had everything we needed, including a large, wonderful walk-in shower with a rain forest shower head. We had a balcony with two chairs where we could sit outside and watch magnificent Mt. Blanc. There is free wi-fi access in the room. The bed and atmosphere were so quiet and comfortable that we overslept and nearly missed breakfast!!! The views from our room are breathtaking. I will absolutely plan to stay here in the future and can highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of the mountain. It's absolutely worth it.

The entrance area is very welcoming and the communal rooms are very cosy. There are lovely walks from the doorstep. The rooms themselves are pretty basic but the view is fantastic. The only issue is that it is up a hill from the road out of Les Houches, which is itself a small village 20 minutes away from Chamonix. There is FREE public transport (ask for a carte d'hotes at reception) but it isn't that frequent. So having your own transport makes things much easier.

Room Tip: It's worth getting the Mont Blanc view.
