“Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Had a business in Oberkochen - few miles away from Aalen, and stayed at this little business hotel for a week.

The town is relatively quiet, and most neighboring shops starts to close around 4-5PM ish on weekdays, and there are no CVS around the area, so I recommend to buy snacks and/or bottled drinks before you come back to the hotel every evening.

The breakfast is nice, clean dining and nice selection of hot & cold food, and fresh coffee.

The Ratshotel is partly modernisied and so has the charme of the 80s as well as a modern side. My room was very comfortable (and modern) with a good bath, a very large bed and enough room for a four day business stay. It was a quiet room with free, quick WiFi and a table wide enough to work with a Laptop, a point where many hotels fail.

It is located perfectly at the beautiful old City Centre - just cross the road and you are there. The breakfast was ok, but the way all the tables and chairs are arranged, it quiet remembers to a classroom - the majority faces the Buffet. A little bit funny but no problem.

The Buffet Itself offers a lot of choices but not realy special ones. But the Service in the morning is very lachrymose.

We stayed here in Sept and it was great. Excellent breakfast, friendly English speaking staff. Rooms are clean and big enough to sit and relax in. Hotel is right in the city so you can walk to everything. Great value for the money.

Spent 9 days here for work and really like this hotel. The location is great. It is only 2 blocks from the central sqaure in the villlage where all the shops and restaurants are located. The rooms are very clean and very modern. The Wifi connection was good. They provide breakfast as well which is very conveinent and the food is very good. The staff is very friendly, especially those working the breakfast every morning. There is no air conditioning but the windows open to let air in. I would recommend this highly for business travel but may not be as good a fit for family travel.

Arrived late, 11:00pm. Has to wait for reception to come down and let us in, wasn't a long wait. No bar facilities which would have been nice but in room minibar was priced very well. Room very clean, modern but unable to get wifi signal in room.

Breakfast very nice buffet with plenty of everything.

Overall a nice hotel for a one night stay.

We are two weeks into a several month stay here (we are relocating to Aalen and in search of an apartment). While this is not a luxury hotel with loads of extras, it is clean, comfortable, and true to description. The location is excellent, just a block away from the lively pedestrian area and convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, and public transportation.

Thus far, the staff has been very attentive and helpful. It seems as though it is only five minutes after we flip our "Room needs attention" sign before three incredible staff appear and clean our room impeccably, cleaning the large room (that includes a kitchen) in about ten minutes. At breakfast, we are consistently asked what beverages we would like and if there is anything that we need. One staff member has even offered us rides to shopping complexes that are just out of reasonable walking distance.

The one reservation is that the wireless internet is unreliable, but an upgrade to the service is coming within weeks. In the interim, we were given a wire to connect our computers directly to the wall to increase the speed. Also, while we have not had problems, a friend of ours from Alabama had some trouble falling asleep in a room that faced the street from the noise of vehicles. He was promptly relocated to a room near the back of the hotel upon request.
