Hotel Schlossblick Chiemsee

I stayed on the room with lake view by paying a premium price. However, it was just a half lake view. Another half is car park. If you are looking for a room with full lake view, do ask them to give you a room with full view. The location is very close to the pier. Excellent for travelling to the palace.
The room was spacious, clean and warm, nothing to complaint. Wi-fi was occasionally drop for iphone but it was acceptable. Breakfast was great with plenty choices of cold cuts, fruits and oatmeals. The interior and the view of the restaurant is also good. For value of money, it was a bit expensive.

Room Tip: Choose lake view room only when you stay longer than 1 night

We stayed here for 4 nights in April. The location is lovely on the banks of the lake with the mountains as a dramatic backdrop.

Our room was on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel so we didn’t have any views worth talking about, if you can afford it ask for a room with a lake view. Our room was quite large with a separate bathroom and toilet.

The owners are new and they are having teething problems. Breakfast service was slow. We were told service started at 7am but when we got there they were only starting to set up. The food was also limited in range and items running out. There were also a few other minor issues.

We hope that these issues will be fixed as the new owners adapt, they seemed genuinely nice and helpful people.

We had a late lunch there ..the location of the restaurant is ideal ..a perfect panoramic view of the lake and the mountains ..one would have thought this would be a good start for a decent meal. It was not to be. The service was lacklustre ..it took ages before we even got the menu, ..it wasn't even busy ..the waitress just couldn't be bothered. For drinks we ordered a radler (beer + lemonade) ..it was 95% lemonade with a touch of beer ..not a good omen for the rest of the meal to come. The chicken breast was tough , and the 'zander tagliatelle' was a lot of pasta with tiny bits of fish ...
Now , reading the not very flattering reviews here on Tripadvisor ..I am not surprised that our meal was like that ...they obviously have serious management problems at this hotel...

The staff is very friendly. The hotel rooms are clean and cozy. Make sure to book a room with a sea-view, it is worth it. The promenade is right infringe of the hotel. There is a parking place adjacent to the hotel. There is also and indoor/outdoor swimming pool within two minutes walk from the hotel. It is the best choice to be in the middle of everything.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with a sea view.

We were given a TINY shoebox room that had 2 windows on the GROUND floor ; one opened onto a carpark right under our noses and the other onto the public walkway and cafe terrace about 15ft away. In the summer, with no a/c, no portable fan which they cannot provide and no other room available. You can imagine the heat, lack of privacy & noise that robs a good sleep. Broken bedside lamp - cant be fixed. Fused bulb on ceiling, dark room. Bloody ridiculous & not worth returning to. "Lake view" is rubbish: more like a view to people eating & drinking under sun umbrellas. Appeals to help rectify the situation proved fruitless. Arrived at 6pm on a Friday, rooms bought via Booking.com (no refund upon cancellation) so no choice but to stay on. This hotel is overrated.
