Description: A real old British pub with excellent pub food, All home cooked and made on the premises from as much organic and locally sourced produce as possible, including great vegetarian and vegan menus. There are Two great open log fires, and a great selection of real ales. A busy local customer base and a super friendly landlord. A bit off the beaten track so not too much passing trade. Which is a shame. Worth going just to say hello to the landlord's mad friendly Jack Russel terrier and his speed of light tail. Excellent beer and wine selection.

A lovely pub in an idyllic Cotswold village. Sat outdoors in the shade which was ideal, but inside was also very welcoming. Good beers. But the biggest surprise is the variety of vegetarian options on the menu...plus some great non veggie options too. Children welcome. Friendly staff, well worth wandering off the beaten track to find. Close to Misarden Park Gardens too. Will definitely return.

I organised a dog walk that started and finished from here. Without any notice the staff accommodated 20 dogs plus owners on a Sunday lunchtime. Food arrived quickly and was lovely (most of us were beaten by the portion sizes!). We will definitely be using the Carpenters again as a meeting point for future walks. Thank you

Came across this little gem cutting across country from Painswick back to Cirencester. What a find ! Only had a quick half as I was driving. Guy in bar( May have been the owner ) really friendly. Sat outside under a brolly supping my beer which was first class. Didn't eat , but other people who where eating commented on how superb the food was. Will definitely be back to this lovely pub ASAP with my wife to sample the great looking menu !
