When we arrived on the bus from Sparta, we couldn't believe what a lovely little inn we had booked at. Our room had exposed stone walls and was very tastefully, if simply, decorated. The bathroom was up to Euro/US standards. Very friendly and helpful proprietors and a good on-site restaurant. Spectacular location, not only for the ruins and churches on the hillside, but also access to the E4 hiking trail.

The owner gentleman tries hard to run a good business, but the cleaner fails him. With the toilet system of Greece (limited flush capacity) it is very important that the trash be taken out everyday to keep the room from smelling and for hygine. This was not done for us. You may be lucky not to get the room with bed bugs.

Very conveniently located for the shouldn't-be-missed Mystras ruins, the Mystras Inn is a good value stopping point for those who want to avoid the uninspiring nearby town of Sparti.

It's at the heart of the village and unmissble from the main road up to the archaelogical site gates.

After spending a night at Mystras Inn I've found it to be excellent value for money; the studio room (with its own bathroom/shower) was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room, its own AC unit, and access to every other convenience in the city on foot.

Its disadvantages include a lack of reliable parking (which is largely due to the narrow city streets) and close proximity to the central road, which might be noisy when there are more visitors than there were in May.

I'd recommend it to travelers wishing to spend some time in that gorgeous part of the region.

The inn was at the center of town, on a cobblestone square, near all the restaurants and cafes in the village. It was clean and charming, and a fabulous price. It was by far nicer than the hotel we stayed at in Delfi the next night, that actually cost us more. Pleasant surprise!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room and it was quiet and roomy.

Well, this inn is just a small hotel, where you will get basic things. They have a nice decoration i of the room, but if the windoew go to the main square - you will be woken up early because of traffic. I wouldn't say the owners were indifferent, but they could be mere hospital. Still, they gave us the hairdryer and even a small discount.

What we didn't like was the food in the restaurant attached to the inn - the wine more expensive and not good, the breakfast and dinner we took once - eadible, but surely you can find nuch nore pleasent tavernas - like Xenia - 15 minutes walk by the road to Mystras castle - they have really tasty food and very big menu to choose from.

My experience in travel is that the less the number of guests, the more attention one receives, whether expected or not. Therefore, slightly surprised at the indifference from what appears to be a family-run B&B. Sorry, correction - this is an "inn" not a B&B since breakfast is not included. Despite the inn being attached to a restaurant underneath. Perhaps epitomises the commercial nature of the enterprise. Shame, since the rest of Mystras experience is nothing short of otherworldly.
