The only feature in favour of this establishment is its proximity to the Lamezia airport. This was the main reason we stayed at Aerhotel Phelipe before continuing our journey south. The taxi ride to the hotel from the airport should cost €10.
Rooms are very basically provided although each room has a safe. Otherwise the furniture is cheap and hanging bed lights are a hazard. There is no bar or restaurant.
The main guest lift is used by staff to transport dirty linen in the morning.
Breakfast, if one can call this miserable experience as such, is served in one part of the café with priority seemingly given to paying café guests on the other side. On offer is a selection of largely stale cakes and biscuits – apparently the same every morning. Otherwise there is a self-service drinks machine and some jams.
The hotel is a weak two star standard grade – my general rule in Italy, or at least in the south, is to deduct one star from their rating to roughly equate to the international standard.
Go there with the very low expectations and you won’t be disappointed.
