I stayed at this place because I had to attend meetings at Sister hotel il Melograno 9 km away.

The location is not exeptional but can be a very good base to visit this area of Puglia which is beautiful
When we arrived the place did not look very promising since the garden in the parking premises was not well kept but then when you arrive to the pool area the place look great.
This place is an old fishery and the pools used to grew fish are now converted to swimming pools. There are 4 pools all with different temperature.

The room is very nice, with canopy bed and it is literally on the sea, since when you open the window you get directly on a private patio and from the patio 2 more meters and you are in the sea. GREAT and the sea there is beautiful.

We also ate at the restaurant great food all fish based, actually before dinner a cocktail with appetizers (home made mozzarella, fried vegetables etc..all prepared on the moment) was served . I rate Dinner and cocktail 10 out of 10.
Dinner and breakfast are served on a patio just on the sea.

I really reccomend it especially if you want to do a romantic gateway.

this is a hard hotel to write about. i wish the reviewer from London had posted before we had booked.
we just got back from a 2 day stay at La Peschiera.
first we booked thru secret places and paid 400 eur instead of 470 eur the hotel wanted. i liked the room better than the first reviewer. you have a terrace right on the ocean and one in front by the pool and then there is a roof top patio as well. that was very nice. they serve breakfast which is good on the terrace over looking the ocean. the people that worked there were all very nice and helpful. the sheets and towels were very nice and the rooms were nice as well just not very big. i think the reason we would not go back is that it just isnt special enough to pay that kind of money. there are much better places in the area to stay for less that have it nailed. they do not have an excercise room but you can use there sister hotel, however the excercise room is not worth going to. it has 3 machines for cardo and two of them the tv/music system did not work. then they had one weight machine. the sister hotel i thought looked old on the internet but when we got there the grounds were beautiful: we never saw a room .we were in Puliga for 6 nights and had a wonderful time.
if you go stay at Masseria Torre Coccaro it is even better than it looks. Pugila is truely beautiful and the italian food and people of pugila are fantastic.oh, if you go do not miss going to Masseria Il Frantoio for a tour of the grounds, the making of olive oil and a meal. it was fantastic.i hope this helps.

First let me put this review in context, I've stayed in hotels all over the world and in most parts of Italy, these have included 'pensions' in the North to 4* converted farms and castles to a suite in a 5* Deluxe hotel in the centre of Sienna. I picked this hotel because it was advertised as 5* Deluxe and the position looked fabulous (literally on the sea). The cost was probably what you would expect to pay (£330 per night) for a 5* Deluxe hotel in the position advertised and with the spa facilities as advertised. However, the room was very disappointing and the bathroom very, very disappointing and, despite the fact the hotel had been closed for renovation, the tiny bathroom contained holes in the (old) wall tiles where new taps had been fitted to the existing sanitaryware and there was a (luckily) defunct wire protruding from the wall, some parts had been painted and some not. All in all I suspect they ran out of time before the scheduled reopening (and yes I did ask to look at other rooms but they are all the same - each 'room' has been created from the same size space and each had the same stadard of fittings and finish).

The waterfall feature you see in the picture had been turned off because people couldn't sleep in the rooms alongside it and the spa facilities apparently weren't available because it was too early in the season (mid May, temps around 30c) and when I asked where they would be (there is no room) I was informed that massages etc would be conducted on a mobile table next to the pool !!

In summary the staff are great and the position excellent (you have your own, small, terrace looking out to sea) but the hotel charges 5* Deluxe money and has 3* facilities (there are no facilities except the pools are they spa pools so only one is a swimming sized pool and it's cold.....). So, unless money is seriously not a consideration and you're only going for 1 or 2 nights so don't want/need anything other than a bedroom, you'll be disappointed.
