It's far the newest and most modern hotel in Acireale. The rooms are very clean, the staff is excellent and they all speak English. Most of the rooms overlooks the ocean, the restaurant has a gorgeous ocean view as well. It's beautiful to have breakfast in the morning when the sun comes into the terrace. It's location is not too far from the autostrada and close to both Taormina and Catania. I highly recommend this hotel.

I would say that the location of the hotel is a good base to explore Sicily, particularly if you have a hire car (which is generally recommended in Sicily anyway). The position of the hotel is an attractive one because there is an excellent view of the sea and the coastline from the dining room, terrace bar and some of the rooms. We weren't disturbed at all by the road or the trains. The hotel itself is modern, stylish and extremely clean and we found the room to be of a good size in comparison to other hotels. We also had a very nice patio area to ourselves. The pool area was attractive and clean and the swimming pool is deeper than we thought it might be so you could have a reasonable swim. The breakfasts were good with a nice selection including fruits, yoghurts, hams, cheeses, breads, eggs, some cereal and pastries. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They were always cheerful and friendly but not too over the top so you always felt like you could relax. They were very helpful as we had a couple of issues with our hire car which they helped us sort. There aren't that many good local restaurants which isn't too much of a problem as the food and wine in the hotel is excellent. There is a good selection of pizzas, pasta, meat dishes and they have daily specials. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to use this area as a base to explore Italy.

We stayed in this hotel during a long weekend trip to the East coast of Sicily. All I can say is the service was perfect, the hotel is well located and very stylish. The breakfast is good, the prices are reasonable!

The hotel is stuck between the coastal railroad and highway. In most rooms you do not hear the trains at all, but you might hear some cars when the windows are open.
Other than that there are only praises: The gardens and small pool are very relaxing, the views from the roof terrace to Mount Etna and along he coast are breathtaking, everything in the hotel is tastefully arranged, rooms are clean and comfortable.
Stay there when you want to explore the East coast between Taormina and Syracuse. Trains run frequently, so you do not need a car.

We spent our last night in Sicily at the Santa Caterina Hotel because it is an easy drive to Catania's airport and not right in Catania. We can't comment on breakfast because we had an early flight, but our dinner at their restaurant was very good the previous evening. Staff was helpful in getting our boarding passes printed and in helping us figure out the best route to the airport. The public places in the hotel are lovely, but our room needed some TLC. Wallpaper was peeling and some things in the bathroom (like the soap dish) were broken. Decor was not very up-to-date. We were not sorry to spend a night there, but for a 4 * hotel, it needs some maintenance. Luckily the food and staff helped to compensate for that.
