“Basic, but everything you need, plus nice extras”
Reviewed 28 March 2013

This pleasant, small, offstreet motel, which we found courtesy of tripadvisor, was a pleasant surprise. It is way outside the busy city, so everything is blessedly quiet. It is modestly appointed in the IKEA mode, but room 12, for example, has a big bed, a big armoire, A/C in the room, a mini fridge, and--at least as important to today's travelers-- fast, unlimited wifi in the room. There are big, fluffy towels instead of the waffle tablecloths you often find in Italy, lots of hot water in the shower, and drains that drain quickly (often one of the weak points of Eurpean plumbing).

The staff are young, cheerful, and helpful, and Adriana is very generous with her time (she even let us use the washing machine for a small wash).

Slight disadvantages: No soundproofing, and the place does echo like a tunnel, so earplugs might be good for some. Our room, on the ground floor, had only one window, which faced a big security light on the neigboring wall. There are no shutters, and the blackout curtain was not quite big enough to exclude all the glare--though it did a pretty good job. Shutters, and the ability to leave the window open at night, would be good to have.

But these are minor details. For those on a somewhat limited budget, this little motel is a real find.

By the way, the motel is associated with an excellent restaurant just a few doors down from the hotel reception. It is the Scirocco, a nice bistro with pretty tablecloths and such, which seems to be much loved by locals. I can tell you WE loved it! Boy, do they have good food--big servings, nicely prepared, and surprisingly low priced.

This was a highlight of my stay in Sicily. Stopped for one night stayed three. A restaurant is associated on main street through town, best focaccia I have ever had. Room was big and though I was single they didn't overcharge me. This room could sleep a family of four easily.
when I'm back on southeast coast of Sicily, I'll stay there if available.

We found this place after a long day of driving from Cefalu, stopping at the Sicilian Fashion Outlet Mall and the confusion of the crowds, cars and streets of Noto ! In short we were done. Exhauted to the point of giddiness. The staff were absolutely incredible, friendly, helpful and fun. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated and a good size. We wanted a glass of wine but were not ready for dinner yet and the next thing we knew the delightful young lady from the front desk appeared at our ground floor window with a bottle, glasses and a cork screw! Great fun. And the ultimate bonus---WIFI with a strong signal in our room! A great place to charge your battery.

Bustling Noto, Sicily, is great for a day, but go to Noto Marina for a lovely, clean, quiet- in- the- off- season spot. Beautiful beach and still warm in late Oct. The Hotel Noto Marina is a small, beautifully decorated place with incredibly helpful staff, especially wonderful Adriana. She managed to rustle up some bikes for us (a nice gentleman pumped up the tires & made sure they were in working order) and she wrote out a map & explained it carefully in her excellent English so that we could bike to the Vendicaria Nature Reserve and Elora ruins, a highlight of our trip to Sicily. Later, she helped me print out plane tickets and it was complicated for some reason. I mean, she really went beyond in helping us.
The beach is very close, dinner at the affiliated restaurant next door, is superb (Scirrocco)-- just a great place.

Having reviewed this hotel's simple, but good website, we booked in for 2 nights at €100 per night for a double room. Apart from the tiny room, no towels, broken shower, the smell of damp/lack of use in the bedroom, all of which I can actually put up with, the final straw was waking up the next morning in the light of day to discover that the bedsheets had not been changed prior to our arrival and, when I say they were heavily soiled, that is an absolute gross understatement. It would be inappropriate to detail the mess on the sheets, but let's just say it was horrific. In fairness, the only english speaking representative of the hotel apologised profusely. I refused to pay on the basis that, I could forgive breakages, some over-selling etc., but not changing bed linen (very heavily soiled) was totally and absolutely unacceptable. We left before we were physically ill.

I could not recommend this hotel at any price to any person.

Room Tip: Dont stay here....
